Difficulty Sleeping

Rin lay on his bed watching Nitori work on his homework. Whenever either of them had to stay up late, it was always difficult for the other to sleep comfortably. Rin wasn't quit sure what it was that made it so difficult to sleep, but the fact remained that unless Nitori was sleeping, Rin couldn't sleep either.

"Matsuoka-senpai you can sleep if you want, I can use the desk lamp."

"I'm fine. I can't sleep anyway."

Rin got up and pulled a chair up next to Nitori's. He leaned over to see what he was working on. The problems looked easy but Nitori had knitted brows, a sign that he was concentrating really hard. Rin sighed, at this rate they'd be up all night.

"Look, you just multiply that number by pi, it's not that hard."

Nitori worked it out the way Rin had told him, and his concentrated look turned into one of pure joy.

"Matsuoka-senpai, you're a genius!"

Nitori was smiling up at him, his eyes glowing with happiness. Rin felt his face flush and turned away.

"Y-You're just slow is all!"

Nitori kept smiling at him anyway and Rin turned an even darker shade of red. Thanks to Rin's help, Nitori was finished with his homework in no time. Rin was startled when Nitori suddenly jumped up and hugged him tightly.

"Thank you so much senpai!"

"No problem."

Rin squeezed his eyes shut and tried to hide his blush by looking up at the ceiling. Nitori stopped smiling and stared at Rin.

"Senpai, why won't you look at me?"

Rin turned to look at him. Fire red meeting ocean blue eyes. Rin was captivated by those eyes.

"It's Rin."

"Huh?"

"You can call me Rin."

Rin looked away awkwardly. Nitori still had a slight pout and it was so cute that Rin was having difficulty restraining himself from smothering him with kisses.

"Ah… okay Rin-san?"

"Just Rin."

"Okay… Rin."

Nitori blushed and smiled adorably and Rin thought his heart would melt. His face was red, his temperature was high, and all he could think about was Ai.

"You're really too much Ai."

Nitori's eyes widened at how Rin had called his name. Before he could speak however, his lips were taken. His face flushed and thinking of what to say became difficult. Rin pulled away and began stammering out apologies in embarrassment.

"Ai… I mean Nitori, I-I'm Sorry! I-I'm s-so so-

Nitori had cut him off with another kiss and then another. Rin was surprised, his head was muddled and Nitori had just kissed him back. Rin's head filled with questions and confusion. The only thing he could manage to get out was,

"W-What…"

Nitori's laughter sounded like euphonic bells ringing in Rin's ears.

"I'm really happy."

Rin's lips parted slightly with surprise. When Nitori's words finally sank in, he leaned down with his forehead grazing the other's.

"I love you Ai."

It was Nitori's turn to blush and his words came out breathless.

"I love you too."

And then they were kissing again, happiness radiating from every inch of their beings. That night, they slept together on the same bunk. Rin had one last thought before he drifted off with Nitori in his arms. Sleep had never been so comfortable.
