A/N Alrighty, I have been meaning to post this one for a while, but just never got around to it. This is a sequel to "Good Enough", however can be read as a stand-alone. Allonz-y!
I don't own Doctor Who, if I did, this would have been canon.
Make Do – Sequel to Good Enough
The Doctor sighed and leant against the console. When had he decided that this was his life, falling in love with someone, not a twentieth of his own age, and falling hard? Only once had he loved like this, but it was one of his own, on his own planet, although, he couldn't think of that. Not after everything that had happened. Turning around, he held onto the console, knuckles whitening from the pressure. He was glad that Rose had decided that she needed an early night; it gave him more time to think about her- and sometimes them.
Without realising, he found himself wandering the TARDIS corridors, and stopping at Rose's door. He told himself 'No,' and that he would not invade the privacy of her, however a noise from inside the room made the Doctor's resolve shatter. A soft, upset moan made him turn the handle of the door and enter. Inside the room lay Rose, turning restlessly in fitful sleep. The Doctor tip-toed over to her side and without further thought, slipped off his shoes, loosened his tie and slipped in beside her.
The Doctor didn't need much sleep, he would be gone before she woke up. They weren't like this, they were best friends, although he had found himself wishing otherwise in the past. He would slip out before the TARDIS woke her up, this moment, this night, would have to make do.
A/N What have I learned from this? The Doctor is a super hard character to write. Oh, well.
