I started out writing this for my Shinigami's Cup, but as I wrote it, my brother pointed out that it wasn't funny and I realised he was right (a rare occurrence). So I decided to post it separately.

This is intended as friendship, but can be read as more if you want it to be.

I do not own Bleach, and at the moment my computer is dead so I can't even watch it.

"What are these for?" Kira asked in astonishment, looking at the basket in front of him. He reached forward and picked up one of the things that filled it. "Are they finch eggs?"

"They're Easter eggs," Hinamori explained.

"So they're laid by an Easter bird?" he asked, even more confused.

"No, by a rabbit," she corrected.

"Rabbits lay eggs?" Kira asked in bewilderment.

"Um, no…" Hinamori trailed off. "Now that I come to explain it, it doesn't really make sense…"

"Let's forget where they come from. What are they for?"

"At this time of year, people in the West of the real world celebrate a holiday they call Easter," Hinamori said happily, back on track. "I think it's something to do with one of their religions, but most people just like the holiday and give out chocolate to their friends."

"So why are you dressed up as a rabbit?" Kira asked. "Rabbits don't have anything to do with chocolate."

"For some strange reason, people in the real world think the chocolate is delivered by a rabbit," Hinamori said, tugging her long floppy ears and blushing faintly in embarrassment.

"How would that work? Rabbits are tiny and have no hands; they wouldn't even be able to carry a basket!" Kira exclaimed. "I really don't think they've sat down and worked this one out."

"I guess it is a silly idea," Hinamori said softly. "But I always thought the idea of an Easter Bunny was cute."

She picked up the basket and turned away. "Here, Kira-kun," she said sadly. "You may as well have this egg anyway…"

And she left, leaving behind a chocolate egg and a guilty shinigami .

Later that evening, after Hinamori had gotten out of her costume and delivered the rest of her eggs, there was a knock at her door. She got up and went to answer it, but when she slid the door open, there was no one there.

"Hello?" she called softly. "Is anyone there?"

Something nudged her foot, and she looked down to see a soft brown rabbit sniffing around her foot. "How cute!" she exclaimed, and bent down to pick it up. As she took it inside and hugged it, she felt something hard around its neck.

"What's this?" she asked in confusion. She set the rabbit down on her couch and had a look, and found an Easter egg tied on a ribbon around its neck with a note attached.

I think I figured out a way your Easter rabbit could deliver its chocolate. Happy Easter.

Hinamori's face broke into a smile, and she hugged the rabbit tightly. "Thank you, Kira-kun," she whispered. "Happy Easter to you too."

I know it's sappy, but I thought it was cute. Happy Easter!
