It didn't matter what day it was, what time it was, or if either of us were busy. If I needed him or he needed me, we'd be there for each other. Me and Mattie's love was like this. I wasn't too hot, it wasn't too cold. It was just right.
When Mattie and I were five, we used to take baths together all the time. "How do you like the bath, boys?" Mom asked us. "Well, its not too hot..." I started. "Its not too cold..." Mattie continued. We looked at each other and smiled. "Its just right!" We finished and started to laugh.
When Mattie and I were twelve, we ate pancakes every morning. "How's the pancakes?" Dad asked us. "Well, its not too hot..." Mattie started. "Its not too cold..." I continued. "Its just right!" We finished and high-fived.
When Mattie and I were seventeen, we walked to school instead of driving the car. "You guys walk to school everyday. How does it feel out there?" Our friend Gilbert asked us. "Well, its not too hot..." I started. "Its not too cold..." Mattie continued. I slung my arm around his shoulders and he put his arm around my waist. "Its just right!" We finished and flashed Gilbert our award-winning smile.
When Mattie and I were twenty two, we fooled around and kissed all the time. "How do you two feel when you kiss?" Our Yaoi loving friend, Elizaveta, asked us. "Well, its not too hot..." Mattie said when I kissed his forehead. "Its not too cold..." I continued when he placed a kiss on my nose. "Its just right." We said after we gave each other a short kiss on the lips. Eliziveta had a nosebleed.
When Mattie and I were forty, we never slept in a separate bed. "How does your bed feel?" Our adoptive son Tommy asked us. I pulled Tommy into my arms. "Well, its not too hot..." I started. Mattie ruffled his hair. "Its not too cold..." He continued. We gave Tommy a hug. "Its just right." We finished.
When Mattie and I were fiftyseven, and Tommy and gone off to college for his second degree, we used to visit ilbert, Elizaveta and Roderich all the time. "How's the hot chocolate?" Roderich asked. "Well, it not too hot..." Mattie started. "Its not too cold..." I continued. "Its just right." We finished and Mattie laid his head on my shoulder. I blocked out Elizabeta's squeal.
When Mattie and I were ninety two, we always thought back on our lives. Back then, it didn't matter what day it was, what time it was, or if either of us were busy. If I needed him or he needed me, we'd be there for each other. Me and Mattie's love was like this. It wasn't too hot, it wasn't too cold. It was just right.
