Heaven's Warm Embrace

Susan Kay's Phantom (Raoul's POV) 'I had held her in trust for seventeen years until death chose to reunite her with the one to whom she truly belonged'

Light

Tremendous bright light swimming around my battered soul

Illuminated and made pure in the glory of the afterlife

Sweet air and lilac calm waft as I ascend into the welcoming glow

Into a vast expanse of holy white I stare

Lost

Searching for something to fill the aching in my heart

The aching that has been with me for what seems an eternity

Groping blindly through the fog of incense that presses itself around me

I raise my trembling voice in desperation

You

Standing before me as awesome as a true angel

Your face as perfect as your soul , inspires adoration alone

Your endless embrace claims me with your silent siren's song ,your eyes say things

That our eternal words of love never could

Us

Grasping something that our earthly lives never gave us

At last our restless souls have claimed what they have always desired

Warm; glowing our spirits merge together, forever soldered together

Now I understand why they call it heaven
