yes I am aware this was a poor decision because I've already got the other story in progress but I had this idea and I just couldn't help myself
Silverfoot gazed lovingly at her two perfect kits. One tiny ginger tom, and one gray she-cat who's fur was already beginning to puff up. They'd just been born, and already she loved them so much. Her mate, Brightfang, stirred beside her, looking at his new kits with joy and happiness.
The new family's peace, however, was interrupted by a wave of pain coursing through Silverfoot's belly. She winced. It felt just like the contractions she'd had with her two kits, but Ivywing said she didn't have anymore kits inside her. The medicine cat had seemed almost certain, right?
Another wave of pain rippled through her side, and she let out a yelp.
Brightfang turned. "Are you alright?" He mewed sleepily. Silverfoot grimaced. "N-no! I'm not alright, g-get Ivywing, and hurry!"
Silverfoot panted heavily, another contraction rippling throughput her body. "Almost there!" Ivywing yowled, but Silverfoot could hardly hear her. With a heave, Silverfoot heard her third kit land in the nest. Ivywing quickly swept the kit away, licking it ferociously. To Silverfoot's relief, she heard a telltale mewl of life from the tiny bundle.
But.. something seemed off. Ivywing's gaze was locked on the kit, eyes wide. With a sigh, the tortiseshell medicine cat looked up to Silverfoot. "You have a she-kit... But.. she doesn't have any fur."
