You honestly didn't think that Hogwarts itself wouldn't fight back against opposing forces, do you? As if would sit there and allow itself to be trampled upon by mangled souls and rotten hearts, by Death Eaters, who ran through the corridors and screaming curses like a madman! Students were dying, teachers were wounded, and the castle would not allow this! The founders were each apart of the school, and bravery, quick-wit, strategic maneuver, and loyalty ran through the very essence of Hogwarts. It was alive, and it would not stand for this foolishness running amok! Stairs disappeared, Death Eaters falling like rag dolls to their doom, students were forced off of balconies and stairs, and they landed safely onto platforms that had "conveniently" appeared. The castle was built from blood, sweat and tears, a bit of magic, and it would not go to waste! Godric's bravery ran through it, fighting every last Death Eater with the knights. Rowena's intelligence coursed through the walls, placing out strategic objects that were sure to surprise the Death Eaters. Salazar's quick wit developed battle strategies, catching the Death Eaters before they could cause any damage and destruction to the students. Helga's loyalty was everlasting, and it set up defense systems against the dark forces who were terribly strong, but loyalty is much more powerful. It was long and difficult, but all these children, these teachers, the school had come to know and love, would not be harmed under the castle's care!
It was over. Finally over, done with, ended. Casualties were high, amongst the Order and the Death Eaters. The castle was in a state of fatigue, but it was proud. The students, the Order, the teachers, they had sacrificed themselves. Frederick Weasley, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Lavender Brown, even! She had not fallen victim to Death, but was in a deep coma after a werewolf attack that had left scars. The castle noted Seamus Finnigan spent a lot of time beside her, praying, worrying, furious at Fenrir Greyback.
