A feeling overcame Luzaf, one he hadn't felt in a very long time.
The warmth of the sun.
Opening his eyes he saw that the bright yellow rays of the sun were indeed shining on him, and from there his surprise only really began. He sat up and once his head stopped throbbing he realized he had been laying down on a fluffy white bed. That wasn't all, however. He looked around and quickly came to a shocking realization that he wasn't where he'd thought he'd be.
He thought he'd be in paradise, but instead he found himself in a large elegant room with white walls and a white ceiling. The carpet was plush and colored crimson red, and except for the bed he was lying on he saw a small table in the center of the room and a dresser near the bed he was laying on. He raised his head to his head, trying to remember anything from before but his mind came up blank.
"This...must be a dream..."
He shifted on the bed intending to get off it but the moment he moved he heard a light groan coming from beside him. He was surprised and didn't know what to expect when he turned to see what had spooked him. His nerves calmed greatly when he saw a young Hume female sleeping next to him. Curled up slightly in a ball on top of the covers of the bed the woman continued to sleep and for the first time since waking up Luzaf smiled lightly.
He knew who it was that was sleeping next to him. A famous but humble adventurer named Edenia from the nation of Bastok and someone he owed a great favor to. She had short brown hair, her skin fair and clean though it only hid the many years she had been a traveler of Vana'diel, the experiences in her adventures far outnumbered the years she had been on the planet and yet she had matured at the same time. She wore a white and light blue vest and light brown shorts and nothing else. The armor and accessories she had been wearing the last time Luzaf had seen her in were gone.
He carefully got off the bed in the hopes that he didn't wake his companion and walked around the room. The place was elegant enough to be a first class suite in any major city but it was unfamiliar to the Elvaan youth.
Noticing a pair of glass doors shrouded by shear white curtains he walked over to them and opened the doors. He was immediately hit by the scent of the ocean while his eyes were met by a more appealing sight. He saw a stretch of beach that seemed to go for miles, with clear blue water on one side and a thick forest on the other. A tall mountain protruded from deep in the forest but it was a mountain that he still didn't recognize.
Still it didn't make the serene scenery any less appealing.
"If this is a dream, then it is a pleasant one to say the least..."
Luzaf prepared to close the doors when he heard a door open. He quickly turned his head and from there he saw a moogle pushing a silver food cart into his view.
"Good morning, kupo!"
Luzaf brought a finger to his lips to silence the creature before pointing to the bed where Edenia was still sleeping.
Luckily the moogle got the message and lowered its voice to a whisper. "Sorry, kupo! I hope I didn't wake your lady friend?"
Shaking his head the Elvaan went over to the table where the moogle had stopped its cart. He spoke in a whisper, "I would hope not little one. However, I have an urgent matter to discuss with you, since you seem to be the only creature here I can talk to."
"What'd you need to know, kupo?"
Taking a seat in a chair at the table, "What is this place and how did we get here?"
The moogle handed him a plate with some rather delicious looking delicacies on it, and answered, "This is Mog's Resort, a private getaway for people needed to relax. As for your second question, I am not too sure how to answer that. You'd best better ask the head moogle Mr. Mog, kupo. He'll tell you what you need to know, kupo, if you can find him that is."
Luzaf sighed, his hope for a simple solution crushed, and he had only been given more questions than answers. "Very well, I will find this Mog and-"
Another groan was heard and Luzaf and the moogle turned to see Edenia sit up, finally awake after smelling the deliciously fresh food being served.
She stretched her arms over her head and groaned once again, "That-*yawn* was a good rest-" She noticed her companion Luzaf and the moogle first. "Luzaf? What are you doing...here..." She looked around and finally noticed her unfamiliar surroundings. "Where am I?"
The moogle chuckled a little bit, "I'll explain eventually, but first, why not come and have some breakfast, kupo?"
"Breakfast? I want some!" She got off the bed and ran across the room and quickly took a seat at the table. She was eager to begin the meal, all the battles catching up to her stomach.
A/N: To be honest I wrote a totally different version of this story months ago but it was boring as hell in my view. I attempted to rewrite it in a similar but more exciting way but this time around I decided to make it more interesting by making my OC female which ultimately sets it apart from my FFXIV story in which the pairing is genderflipped.
