This is just a one-shot I thought I might put up. I tried to sort of incorporate some of the love in HP, because I found one Twilight fan who said there wasn't any. How I hate Twilight and its fans (no offence, Twifans with sense, it's just that the ones we hear the most are sorta stupid, they represent you)
Severus hated Harry much like he had hated James. But, somehow, he always loved the boy who lived as though he was Snape's child… Why?
Because of her. He was her child.
After everything he had done… All he had sacrificed… One foolish mistake had led to her death, and now another was going to lead to Harry's. All that life had ever taught him was to be careful who he trusted. The second time, though, he had been careful. Albus Dumbledore was famous for his kindness, his Muggle Rights activity, so it had seemed fitting to go to him for help. But this man, this pure, white saviour, had betrayed him just as badly as the Dark Lord.
"He… He's going to die as well," Severus whispered. "Lily's son… Lily's son will die." His voice was emotionless, but tears were falling thick and fast. He was a different person to the strict, biased teacher the Gryffindors saw, or the generous Gryff-hater the Slytherins took him for. Lily had been his first friend. She had stood up for him in front of James, she had forgiven him for accidentally calling her friend a mudblood, and even after he had called her that, she still watched him concernedly when he got near James, though she never did speak to him as her friend for two years after that. Lily and James… He would never have expected it. James was a bully, a toerag Lily had hated, but in fifth year, they had become what Snape and Lily could not.
Lily…
This was why, after everything, Snape died, not for Albus, or for Hogwarts. In the end, his death… It was for Lily. In his mind's eye, he thought he saw her emerald green eyes.
That was why.
