This story isn't historical at all, and the characters are majorly OoC. This is because it's based on a real fight I had, and was written to get my feelings out. This is FrUK friendship, but could perhaps be read as pre-slash if you squint. Lots of Prussia bashing, and Spain bashing too. Random use of real and country names. The title is quite lame, I'm bad with titles…
Francis is my friend. I may deny it, because he gets on my bloody nerves, but he is my friend. My best friend even. He's the one who's always been there for me when I needed him. So it would be only normal for me to return the favour, wouldn't it? But the thing here is, I can't.
You see, quite a while ago already, Francis was over at my house. It was one of those nights when he just appeared, and he wouldn't leave no matter how I told him to. So, over a cup of tea, we talked. Although only I drank tea, he drank whine, maybe that's why he was so open… But anyway. We talked, and he told me about this matter he had with Prussia. You see, Prussia can be really bitchy. He thinks he's all "awesome" while in real life he's just a wanker. But apparently, Prussia had been extra bitchy lately. And especially towards France. Francis being his overly sensitive self didn't take that very well. So I told him to tell Prussia to stop being a bitch and grow a pair. And maybe that isn't the best advice ever, but I had had some rum by then… Anyway, Francis left my house and I didn't hear from him for a few days. When I did hear from him, it was sudden. Another night in which he suddenly turned up on my doorstep. A night in which he had been crying. I let him in and sat him down. With eyes that were still gleaming with moisture he told me what had occurred. Apparently, he had stood up to Prussia. Who had gone complaining to Spain. Who had then begin to try to talk Francis into just letting everything be the way it was. Which of course France didn't want and he told him so. It turned out that by then, both Prussia and Spain were turning against Francis. I of course told him to stand his ground. Which brought us to where we are now.
Prussia and Spain have been more pressuring than ever. Francis is afraid of losing them and doesn't dare really stand up to them. Which mightn't be a good idea anyway, seeing as Prussia's might not be, but Spain still has a very real army. But still. But by now you're probably wondering, why don't I stand up to them? Because they blame me. They blame me that France has bad feelings about them. They blame me for losing their friend. Which isn't at all true. All I did was encourage him to stand up for himself, because he would have surrendered if I hadn't.
But now this is brings us here. At this point where Spain and Prussia are at France's doorstep every night. At this point where he doesn't let them in, but calls me. At this point where he cries to me every night as I encourage him to be strong. Because that's all that I can do to avoid war. I think it might happen anyway, seeing as this is getting way out of hand. I will have Francis's back then. This time I will. Because even though I might deny it, he is my best friend. However, we mustn't initiate it. And right now I can't do anything, and I feel so bloody helpless…
