Response to shadowsirenv's challenge: "A Flute, a Saxophone, a Piano, and a Violin". I hope you all like it. It was written in: minutes, with much, much inspiration from "Aeris' Theme for Piano" from the movie "Final Fantasy Advent Children".
None of this belongs to me except for the plot.
pIt was a warm, sunny, bright spring morning. Sakura blossoms were floating around on the slowly moving breezes outside, and birds were merrily chirping from their positions on various branches. In short, a perfect day.
pAnd where were you?
pSitting at a piano in the Third Music Room, where it was quiet and empty, and no one had arrived yet. You were playing your favorite sad melody on the black and white keys, your fingers moving elegantly, flowing across, heart-wrenchingly lovely chords echoing throughout the large room.
pWhy was it a sad song?
pEarlier that day, you had entered the Third Music Room, hopelessly in love with one of the hosts, and you had planned to tell him of your feelings. There was just one little itsy-bitsy problem with that. He was a host. But you hadn't realized that, like the foolish little girl you were.
pAnd who exactly was he?
pOh, just the most gorgeous, kind, forgiving, funny, caring blonde prince of the best host club you'd ever heard of. The prince type, Tamaki Suoh was your loved one.
pWhat did he do?
pYou actually were standing there watching him in action, wooing girls, telling them all the same things you'd heard from him… and the more you saw, the more your heart broke. As if it could be any more shattered than it was now.
pContinuing in your agonizingly beautiful song, the tune was heard by another set of ears… and a curious face peered through a slowly opened crack in the double doors. A glint from a pair of glasses and a small chuckle, and the figure was off.
p Soon, another character had wandered up to the room, and as the doors creaked open, you continued playing, hypnotized by the song, in a trance-like state, and you didn't notice them sauntering up to your side, a painful expression on their face.
pYou looked so vulnerable, so sad, and the music only accentuated that obviously pointed out fact.
p Suddenly, a warm hand was on your shoulder, and you had ceased your hypnotic state, the music abruptly cutting off, and you were scared out of your wits. You saw an angel before you: a sweet smile and beautiful deep violet eyes.
p All at once, he was sitting on the bench next to you, and your eyes threatening to leak out a river of tears. A beautiful melody began to fill the silence, and you instantly calmed down. After a deep, shuddering breath, you smiled at him, and began to play as well. Maybe your unsaid feelings would be poured out this way.
pThe two of you sat next to each other, hands moving across the keys at different paces, but your hearts beating at the same rate.
pThe music continued on for a while, both tunes matching each other like yin and yang, day and night, like hot and cold… Opposites, but equals.
pThe smiles on your faces were one and the same.
pYou were in love, and you could finally infer from the quickening tempo of the music, that he was just as happy to be with you as you always were to be with him. But did he feel the same way?
pThe song slowly ended with a few soft notes, and in those brief moments afterward, you felt a hand on yours, and its twin on your cheek. And a pair of lips on your own.
pAnd suddenly, you found that… he wasn't just playing with your heart. He had been playing with everyone else's.
pBut you were the only one who had his heart in your hands.
