Start Chapter 1: Feferi's Birthday
Oh hi there! I'm Feferi Peixes. Nice to meet you! Today, my lovable little fishies, is Valentine's day, or more commonly known as my birthday. Most land-dwellers don't know this because I usually live on the ocean floor with my lusus, but I came up here to make more fronds and start anew. However, a certain frond already knows that this human holiday is my birthday. His name is Sollux Captor.I have taken a shine to him in the very least. I walk past him then he jerks up, surprising me. I'm serious. That scared the heck outta me. I stop and turn slightly to meet his gaze.
"Yes, Sollux?" He takes a step towards me and my heart beats rapidly as he comes closer.
"Um...Ii have a pre2ent for you, Fef. Here." I take the present in my fragile hands. My heart was beating like a bomb ticking away at our demise. I unwrapped he wrapping carefully as can be. I saw the present and squealed in delight.
"Ii2 there 2omething wrong, Fef?"I shook my head, picking up the coral bouquet in my hands. I go get a vase filled with sea-water and almost cry as I put the bouquet inside it. It reminded me of my lusus and all my subjects under the sea, it reminded me of back home. I heard Sollux approach me, then his arm wrapped around me. I turned and cried on his shoulder. He didn't say anything and just hugged me, trying to comfort me. I gripped his shirt as I continued to remind myself about the sea.
After a while, after I stopped, Sollux says "Feferi, Ii'm 2o 2orry Ii cau2ed all thi2 2adne22." I shook my head, looking up at him.
"No, Sollux. You did the exact opposite. You made me happier than before. Thank you." He stays silent as he continues to hug me.
"Happy Birthday, Feferi." Sollux smiles down at me.
