OK, so, apparently, the world needs saving, and I'm the one who has to do it. But like I know how, I have no clue what I'm supposed to do. Mix that with spending practically all of my free time being chased around by Erasers and fight for my life, with five other kids in tow. Being an avian mutant freak is not easy. Especially when I'm smack in the middle of puberty, which is hard enough for any kid.
But when he's holding me in his arms. When he's telling me that everything will be OK, in that silent way that is his and his alone. When he's kissing me. When he's brushing the hair away from my face. When he smiles at me.
Then, and only then, I know that everything is going to be just… peachy.
