Hello, there! This is my first Smallville fic. Just finished season 8 today. So hyped when season 9 comes out on DVD. :D It's complicated where I'm at with Smallville. I watched the beginning of season 1, but I borrowed them from a friend and it turns out they were damaged. Season 2 was clean, but the first disc wasn't there. I got six through eight. I'm determined to get the series done, though! haha
I like Davis as a character, but him with Chloe... iffy for me. Them being there for each other. . . It reminded me of a song, which got me inspired. This is based on "Save Me From Myself", Christina Aguilera. ... GUY VERSION. Would have written a songfic, but it's in a girl's POV. Just to let you know, even though the letter sounds like he's accepting Chloe's engagement, deep down inside he wants her and has feelings for her. Hey, he went after her in "Bride". haha This is written pre "Bride".

I know you're getting married and this is totally out of line, but please, hear me out.
I'm a complicated guy. It's not easy to be with me for very long. Bouncing from foster home to foster home, I never really belonged anywhere. Without the memory of my childhood, it was even harder to find out who I really am. Sure, I'm this guy who drives an ambulance and helps people, but honestly I get scared easily. Everything around me seemed so temporary. My condition only makes me feel more lost and confused. Nothing seemed to last long and I could never hold on to something to make it permanent, until... I met you.
I thought I was never going to trust anyone so easily, but you stood there and never left my side. While others never understood me and walked away... you were patient enough to stick around. When I told you about my condition, you were cool about it, which made me so happy. I finally had someone to talk to about it. Through all the troubles... you're the only thing that makes sense to me in this world. I'm amazed how much you've put up with me, Chloe, you're an amazing person. It's hard and confusing, but you've been my strength... strong enough to lift me up.
You showed me a way out of here, you've broken all my walls... You've made me a better person to myself. I'm so grateful for all you've done.
Walk down the aisle and marry Jimmy, but if you ever change your mind... I just don't want to make you do something you'll regret. I'll always be around if you need me.
