Okay, I know I need to stop with the random one-shots and continue with my stories, but when I have writer's block, this is all that comes to me! Sorry! Just read it, and please review, because I have NOTHING to do all summer and reviews literally make my day.

"Hi Sev!" I called after Severus, who was walking swiftly down the hall toward the Slytherin common room.

"Hello Lily," he said emotionlessly.

"Sev, what's wrong?" I asked, confused. Just then, Lucius Malfoy walked up with his Cronies, Crabbe and Goyle.

"Talking with the mudblood are we Severus?"

"Go away Malfoy!" I cried angrily. "Come one Severus," I said, grabbing his arm. He pulled it away, not looking at me.

"Pathetic excuse for a witch," Malfoy sneered. "Go back to the Gryffindor common room."

I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I could put up with Malfoy, he didn't bother me any more. But why wasn't Severus trying to help me? Or even look at me.

"Severus?" I asked, confused and upset. "What's wrong?"

"Oh, he's not speaking to you at the moment," Malfoy replied conversationally.

"Sev-" Lily began, but Severus cut her off.

"Why not just call me Snivelus like your new friends!?" he sneered.

"W-what?" I asked, tears threatening to break loose at any moment.

"Get away from here, mudblood," he said angrily.

That did it. The tears broke free.

"Leave her alone!" a familiar voice cried. My bodyguards. I would have laughed had I not been so upset.

"Oh look," Lucius said. "It's the blood traitors and their werewolf friend."

"Shut up Malfoy," Sirius spat, walking over so that he was about three inches from Malfoy's face.

"Are you alright Lily?" James asked. It amazed me how much he had changed. he was actually being compassionate.

I nodded, wiping the tears from my eyes. "I just want to go back to the common room," she said, and James put his arm around my shoulders.

"I can walk," I said, once we were away from Lucius and Severus.

"Yes," he agreed. "But this way I get to touch you," he added with a cocky grin.

I rolled my eyes. Maybe changed was the wrong word for him.

"But seriously," Remus said. "Forget that guy."

"Yeah, he's obviously an idiot if he can't realize that you're the most amazing girl in the world," James muttered.

How about changing.

James Potter's still James Potter, but he's also changing to someone Lily was really beginning to like.
