Red Doesn't Clash With White
I tried to control my excitement. Lucas was down theta sile, and we were going to be married. We were here to start afresh, no vampires, wraiths; just humans, together forever. I'd long since overpowered my temptation of blood, and I hadn't become a full vampire. Or wraith, whatever I was going to be. My thoughts drifted to tonight, and my excitement reached fever pitch, and I tried to keep my pace in time with the music. And there I stood in front of Lucas Ross, the man I loved and forever would love. My eyes sought only him-and another in the crowd. Balthazar wasn't sad or miserable like I'd thought. No, he was happy. I pushed him away for now, and yesterday night took his place in my head.
……………………………………Yesterday……………………………………………
"Dana, ouch!" I cried.
"Sorry, sorry." She mumbled. "Just it's the night before the wedding, and as I, Lucas' step-sister, and your future step-sister-in-law, it's my job to get the gown ready. It's tomorrow, you know."
"God, sometimes I think you're having the wedding." I mumbled.
Dana smiled. "But you are, Bianca, now hold still."
I heard a laugh from the couch.
"You're next, Raquel." Dana said.
I heard a groan.
"As the maid-of-honour and the one of two bridesmaids, you have to be ready two." She paused. "And then there's Vic, and..."
"The best man can dress himself." Balthazar would have been my first choice, but he had denied, as I knew he would. All the same, I couldn't help but giggle, as I thought of the best man wearing tie-died chucks.
"See, that's the spirit!" Dana stood up straight to admire me. Then, her hands flew to her mouth.
"What?" I said self-consciously.
"Red…doesn't…RED CLASHES WITH THE DRESS!!! OHMYGOD, I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT!!"
"Dana, Dana, breathe." Raquel said, trying not to laugh, but in vain.
"Geez, I thought you were having a heart attack!" I said, though a bit hurt by her comment.
Dana looked at me straight in the eye, and all three of us burst into laughter.
But I was here now, as Mrs. Bianca Ross, well, almost.
"I do." I said confidently.
"I do." Lucas said. In that second, we both understood that we were together, never to be separated. Unless by divorce, and let's face it, there was very little chances of that happening. Lucas leant down to kiss me, and as we parted, he whispered in my ear, "Red doesn't clash with white."
