Author's Note: Alright: In English class we were given the writing prompt: "Use Powerful Imagery to Describe Your Summer." I wrote a poem: & I thought it was some of my best work, so here's the product of my hour long class. ^^

It was a lagging afternoon,
A Wednesday in June.

I spent it lying in
the sun-kissed arms, of my beloved.

The wind was low, and the birds sang.
He whispered sweet nothings, in my ears.

His warm breath trickled down my neck.
Causing a shiver down my back, and my soul to shake.

His hand found mine,
Our fingers intertwined.

His free hand, tracing
Abstract designs, down my side.

His skin, rough and worn,
From a day's labor, in a field of corn.

A grin spread across my face,
As a kiss landed upon my cheek.

The wind, like God's breath,
Blew freshly cut grass onto our bodies,
The familiar fragrance, making us smile.

His face loomed in my line of sight,
Maple leaves, falling atop us.

His hands rested on either side of Me.
I propped Myself up on my elbows,
Giving Me enough height, to make our lips meet.

He forced Me to, again, lay on my back,
His hands grasping my hips,
His tongue across my bottom lip.

Enter, Explore, Enjoy, My Love.

His body collapsed next to mine,
An "I love You…" escaped his lips,
Migrating to my ear.
And we smiled, for We loved without fear.

A cold gust engulfed Us.
Taking Our smiles and made Our hair blow wild.

Winter was coming…
Flowers: Dying.
Summer: Lost.
Winter's snow: covering, cooling Passion.

Our Affair: Dead, Lost, Covered, Cooled.

Memories: Remain.
