The Sun and The Moon
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
Thayet was his sunshine. She positively glowed and was the best Queen that anyone had seen in a long time. Thayet genuinely cared, and she often took her time to ensure everything in the kingdom was perfectly set.
Jonathon loved her in a way. It wasn't the searing love that bound George and Alanna, neither was it the placid love combined with honor that glued Cythera to Gary. He loved Thayet because she was charming, and Queenly, and honorable. He loved her in a different way from the rest. She was his sunshine.
During the day, Thayet was the Queen. She had everything right in her palm and did great care not to take too much. She was showered in jewels that she did not care for, given silks and scents and exotic foods that no one else dared have because they didn't hold her power or her title. During the day, Thayet ruled completely.
Delia was his moon. During the night, when his wife was safely tucked in bed, he would slip away to the prison and see her standing with the moonlight pooling against her pale skin. The guards knew, but never said a word. Delia was his darkness, his night.
Jonathon loved Delia completely. It was the searing love that bound George and Alanna, and it was the placid love with honor in it like Cythera and Gary. Delia had given everything to him and he was giving everything to her…at night. Nighttime was the only safe time they could be together, like in their youths, and it was their time to rule hand in hand.
At night Delia was his Queen, at night he gave her the jewels, the silks, and the scents that were exotic. At night, Delia ruled over everyone but nobody knew it. It was a sad combination for Delia wanted to be Queen more then anything and Jonathon wanted to give her whatever she most wanted.
Delia was supposed to be Queen, supposed to be Jonathon's only love but he gave her everything else he could. At night, only Delia ruled, only Delia would be served and only Delia deserved everything that the others had during the day. During the night, Delia was the ruler, the Empress, the Queen, the Duchess. Delia was everything during the night and nothing during the day.
Thayet would always be his sunshine…but Delia, Delia was his moon.
