"Love - bittersweet, irrepressible - loosens my limbs and I tremble."
-SAPPHO
Looking in the mirror, I see a tall, tan, beautiful young woman in her early thirty's. She is wearing a sleeveless, white dress, on one side it cuts off at mid-thy on the other it trails down to the floor. Her blond hair is in a messy but elegant bun and held up by a Hawaiian flower. She wears a shark tooth necklace and flip-flops. Her veil is lined with sea shells and her bouquet is in her hands.
"You look amazing Cammie!" Bex, my maid of honor, practically screams.
"She is beautiful," Mom says.
Her purple, one off-the-shoulder-sleeve dress fades to white at the bottom. Liz and Macey, in their teal summer-in-the-sun numbers, nod in agreement. Liz's little girl, Sarah, our flower girl, is in her white dress. Joe Solomon, Zach's dad, is in his suit and flip-flops, same as Bex's son, William. Every one is ready.
Mom and Aunt Abby kiss my cheeks and leave to take their seats. The slow music starts and Sarah and William are gone. 15 seconds. Liz follows. 15 seconds. Macey disappears. 18 seconds. Bex vanishes. 20 seconds. I loop my arm in Joe's and the tent is empty. Everyone is on their feet.
Pink petals cover the sand. The arch we are walking to is on the edge of the water. The sun is right behind it. Under it is the one person who can talk all my fears away. Next to him are Grant, Nick, and Jonas. The ceremony starts.
"Do you, Cameron Anne Morgan, take this man to be your law-fully wedded husband? To have, to hold in sickness and in health?" the preacher asks.
"I do, forever." Then the preacher asks Zach.
"I do, always."
"You may kiss your bride." Just like our first kiss, he dips me, but this time it is hungrier. Then our song started, Andy Grammer – "Fine by me."
We walk to the dance floor/ reception area that Zach and the guys had set up. Everyone gives us hugs and congrats. When I get tired of dancing, an hour and a half later, Bex, Macey, Liz, and I go eat at the buffay.
"You never told us how Zach proposed!" Bex squeals.
"Tell us! Or else!" Macey demands. So I tell them.
