Nezumi woke up warm for what seemed like the first time in his life. He wasn't drenched in sweat from a nightmare, he wasn't cold from the dew that covered the ground and there wasn't any yelling from someone who had discovered him. It was nice.
He went to move, only to realize that he was still holding onto... "Sion...?" he whispered quietly as he moved closer to the boy's face. With a smirk, Nezumi realized that Sion was still sleeping, his snores were the only thing that sounded throughout the room.
Nezumi gave himself a couple minutes to grip Sion's hand and the warmth that was around him before slowly rolling out of the bed. His arm still hurt from his ''operation'' last night and his body still felt heavy with the fever, but he was able to walk without wobbling. He was still wearing the sweater that Sion had given him, and he was reluctant to let it go; it really was very warm...
He swallowed a sigh as he went through some of Sion's drawer for useful things. He wasn't going to stay here any longer than he had to, it was too risky. After going through the drawers, he went back to the bed, being careful not to wake Sion.
"Hey." he whispered, even though he knew his friend couldn't hear him. "You're an idiot." He said at first, sitting back on the bed.
"But thank you," he said even quieter. Without thinking, he leaned back and kissed his head. It was nothing more than his lips touching Shion's head, but it felt more than that. More... tangible?
Shaking the distracting thoughts from his head, Nezumi went to the window, shivering at the cold morning air. The trees around the balcony were slightly broken from the typhoon the night before, but the sun that was coming over the horizon made everything bleed red.
He hated that colour.
Turning back to Sion's bed, he steadied himself before jumping off the balcony.
-End-
This was originally an application, but I turned into this once I realized I wasn't going to make it for various reasons. Le siiiiigh.
