Author note: This story was written when Gaiden started, so I played with the possibilities at the time.
I decided to publish it in here because I'd like to read some feedback, English is not my first language and this is a way to practice and improve my writing. Thank you very much.
"What happened to Sakura?" The 7th Hokage asked to Shizune. He was supposed to be in a reunion with Gaara via skype at the moment, but when he heard about Sarada taking her mother to the former Hokage assistant house because she had fainted, he made a Kage Bunshin and left his office.
"She has been under a lot of pressure all these years, Naruto-kun" the black haired medic declared. "According to what Sarada told me, she asked Sakura about her father… They discussed, Sakura lost her temper… The house is going to need repairs. After that, she collapsed." she added with a sigh.
"Sarada is there picking up some things, but I'm sure she will come back soon" she said while she opened the door.
Sakura was still sleep, a towel in her forehead and a worried expression in her face.
"Sakura-chan has been working a lot since the bastard left" Naruto agreed.
"Even though she is not alone; it has to be difficult rising a child on your own and being the hospital head medic. I don't know what would I do without Hinata, but I wouldn't be Hokage without her."
"Naruto…?" Sakura murmured; sitting up slowly and scanning the room in the process. "Where is Sarada?"
"She is collecting things from your house, but she will be here, soon, don't worry" Shizune informed her.
"Sakura-chan…"Naruto's voice was cautions "I heard what happened…"
"I see" she replied
"Sara-chan is going to graduate from the Academy the next week, you know?" There was a silent pause. "She is going to be a ninja"
"I know, Naruto." Sakura closed her eyes. "Ino told me about it" She didn't like the course the conversation was taking. She already knew that Sarada was going to become a shinobi in a few days.
"Maybe is time to give her answers, Sakura-chan. I was there in the office when Sasuke and you went to Kakashi to ask for permission to go. I understand why you prefer not talk about the situation, but please consider this, maybe you and Sasuke are wrong, I don't think that pretending that you don't remember him is going to stop her questions. I know that you guys agreed to that to make it easier for her, but you and I have taught her to love him, even though he is not here. I have told her about all our missions together and I know she loves to listen to those stories, no matter if she already knows how everything goes. Why don't you do the same thing? You know better than anyone what happened when Itachi chose to keep Sasuke in the dark about the Uchiha. " The Hokage sighted "Don't do the same to her"
Sakura was silent, considering what Naruto have told her. She had thought the same thing multiples times but, what if got scared? Sasuke had made clear that he wanted Sarada to live a peaceful life.
The three of them listened to a light sound from behind the door, but pretended otherwise. Sarada had come back.
Maybe it's time. Sakura thought to herself. Naruto was right. After all, Sarada was an Uchiha, and if what Sasuke had told her about his clan was true, she was vulnerable too.
"Sarada, I know you are there, come in." she said.
Naruto and Shizune interchanged a look when the girl entered the room with a photo in her hand. After nodding at Sakura both of them left the room. They needed to talk. It wasn't going to be easy for either of them, but Naruto knew that in the end it was the best thing to do.
