"You don't love me Ginny," he said, thinking the girl he addressed asleep. "I know it's true so don't deny it. I can deal with it, no one has ever loved me, just don't…please don't pretend you love me. I couldn't take it, hearing you say it but knowing you don't mean it would be torture to me. When I say 'I love you' it's not because I want you to say it back to me or to pressure you to feel that way. I just want you to know that I love you, no matter what, and I always will. People have survived for decades with unrequited love and to be quite honest I'm just used to it by now. Just don't say you love me, please, it gives me false hope and I can't stand questioning myself like that. It's OK that you don't love me, I know there are million reasons why you shouldn't and not one for why you should so when I say I love you just hear my words and don't lie to me for my own sake. I don't deserve or need it."
And with this the boy rolled over and fell asleep.
"But I do Draco," Ginny said, opening her eyes. "I really do." She kissed his lips gently and then lay back down, snuggling into him. "If only you knew how much I loved you."
