"It's your fault," Illya complained as they walked down the hallways the U.N.C.L.E New York headquarters. "And now it'll go on both our records. Mine included."
"It was hardly my fault," Napoleon says innocently. The last mission had almost been a complete failure. They had only managed to escape with half the plan and Waverly had to send in another pair of Agents to help them get the other half. It was hardly a shining success, he had to admit.
Illya growled. "It was. You just had to get distracted by some woman."
"Hey," Napoleon defended. "She was beautiful."
"She was T.R.U.S.H agent," Illya snapped.
"How was I supposed to know that?" Napoleon protested, giving a shrug.
Illya just gave him a scowl, very nearly slamming the door as he exited into their shared office. Napoleon sighed, following him inside.
"Food," Napoleon said. It was nearly five o'clock and they had finally finished the paperwork they had to fill out for this mission. It was an unusual large amount and Napoleon suspect it had something to due with Waverly's calm displeasure at their latest mission. A form of punishment, as it were.
Illya's head snapped up from where he was frowning at his desk. "What?"
Napoleon smirked. If there was one thing that could get Illya's attention it was food. "I'll pay for your dinner tonight," he said. "Then you can stop this annoyed, passive aggressive treatment. Not that you being annoyed and grumpy is very unusual-" Illya scowls a little more. "-but this is bad, even for you. I just want it to end. So let's go eat something expensive and then you can stop this."
Illya regards him for a moment. For a moment, Napoleon thinks he's going to refuse, but instead the Russian relents. "Fine," he says, shoving the papers in a drawer. "But it had better be good food. No sandwiches with an ungodly amount of mustard."
"Mr. Solo?"
"Hmm?" Napoleon says. "I mean, yes, sir?"
Waverly regards him with an air of weariness. "Care you explain why you charged fifty dollars on behalf of this Lutèce restaurant on your U.N.C.L.E expense reports?"
