I went back to that day,
"Block!" I shouted, "Block!"
"What?" She asked tears filled her eyes. "More bad news?"
"No, no. Listen I'm sorry." I looked over at the soccer field where she was going towards.
"That doesn't even help!" She snapped and turned on her heel.
"Massie!" I shouted and she stopped, and turned around to face me. "I'm sorry the team really wants me."
"Well why didn't you say no?" She sniffed and looked me in the eye.
"What?" I hissed.
"What about me!? You can't just pack up and leave me for some soccer team!" Massie shouted at me and threw her arms out.
"My dad… Said it would be good in college apps." I mumbled putting my thumb and pointer finger on my aching forehead.
"Well I hope you don't have a good life." She mumbled and then turned around again.
"Wait!"

"I want you to have this." I said and reached into my back pocket to get the case for the necklace I bought her. I opened the box and exposed the gold necklace and a D on it.
"My name's Massie though." She scoffed.
"No, D, for Derrick. As in me?" Didn't she get it? I was trying to be sincere.
"Oh." She said and took the necklace. "Why?"
"Then you won't forget me." I said with a smile proud of myself.
"Help me put it on." She sighed and turned around. I put it around her neck and snapped it in the back.
"There." I said.
"Thanks." She mumbled and then started to walk away.
"I promise!" I shouted.
"What?" She asked her hand on her hip.
"I promise I'll come back for you." I got out.
"Thanks." She said with a smile. I then ran over to her and gave her the last kiss I was going to give her in a long time.
