Hello, people. It's me again, Mr No-excellent-ideas. I bring another chapter, and I hope this one ends well.
"Damn it! Rifle Jam!" Lincoln yelled as he and his remaining sisters fended off a strong horde of undead zombies, hastily sliding his rifle's chamber. The zombies seemed relentless as they kept on straggling along. By now, the entire facility was flooded with zombies, and with each passing second, they slowly advanced into the crowd of humans, who were attempting to gun them down. Lincoln looked up and gasped in shock.
*INSERT ALI-A INTRO*
ONE WEEK AGO, ROYAL WOODS, MI
The bell rang at Royal Woods Elementary School, marking the end of a significantly exhausting and miserable Monday. Lincoln and Clyde shut their lockers and headed out the front door in excitement, ready to watch the popular Ghost-Hunting show, "ARGHHH!" together. They were chattering about the last episode and giving their honest thoughts on it, chuckling.
"Did you see that flying painting? That was creepy!" Lincoln memtioned and aroused Clyde's interest.
"I know. I-I think I got t-traumatised by that j-jumpscare at the end, so I-I'm meeting Doctor Lopez at f-five." Clyde stuttered in response as he remembered how loud he screamed. Dr Lopez was his family therapist, and he constantly meets up with her, even if it's just dealing with disappointment.
"Well, it should be fine if you come home at six," Lincoln said, "The show starts at six thirty."
"I know, buddy. I told her I'd be there early, so we can end quicker and I'd be able to catch the show." Clyde explained in response. Then, after saying their signature friendship catchphrase, they walked their seperate ways.
Meanwhile at the Middle School, Lynn Junior had just ended training. Being the team's captain, she stayed behind to tidy up the locker room under the Coach's supervision.
"Thank you, Lynn. I never had such a good captain." Coach Howard thanked his junior before taking his leave. Lynn nodded in response before walking out the door and locking it. She then went to hang her keys in her locker and locked it up before exiting the main building and walking up to the school bus. As she sat down, though, she started feeling sick. She sneezed and coughed for a while, before she stopped. Must be some kind of cold, she thought.
Soon, Lynn entered her house's front door to be greeted by silence. "W-What's up? Something's up." She muttered under her breath as she set down her bags and went upstairs. Then, she saw Lucy sitting with all the siblings, including Lincoln.
"The spirits say that something terrible is going to happen in the next ten hours..." Lucy moaned, to the horror of everyone.
"What's going on?" Lynn inquired in confusion. What terrible thing was going to happen? Was Lucy lying? Obviously, a million things were going through her mind right at that moment. She knew that her family never was religeous, but having a gothic sister who often performed rituals was no small matter.
"Sigh. The spirits say that something bad is going to happen soon, and we should evacuate the country." Lucy sighed, which made everyone in the room gasp.
"We don't have passports, remember?" Lynn deadpanned. This made Lucy screech, and she curled up in a fetal position for a while before sitting up again.
"P-Please go. The spirits say they wish to communicate in private." Lucy then instructed, and in a matter of seconds, there was a heated race to the television downstairs.
"I want to watch Prison Pageant Fails!" Lola screeched as she held up the controller.
"No! I want to watch the Wrestling Match!" Lana retaliated as she snatched the controller away and changed the channel.
"Hey! I would like to view a documentary on the world's hardest Paradoxes!" Lisa burst out and carried on to retrieve the controller, and it seemed as if a brawl was about to break out. Mr. and Mrs. Loud was attending a relative's wedding, and thus, they were unable to contain their children.
"Cut it out! I'm the oldest, so I get to choose the channel." Lori dictated before swiping the controller out of the four-year-old's hands. She then proceeded to turn on the romance reality TV show, The Dream Boat. Everyone suddenly piped down and gathered by the couch to bet on which man would get to date a female. This was, perhaps, the one thing all the Loud sinlings were able to enjoy together.
As the show was about to reveal the episode's winner, the television became fuzzy and the audio fluctuated, before displaying a black screen with words typed out on it.
W-What is this ugly thing?" Lori asked in disgust as she started changing the channel. However, the same thing appeared on the screen, and no matter how many channels she clicked on, the same screen would appear without fail.
"Please stand by for a message from the Emergency Broadcast System. This is NOT a test." An emotionless, robotic female voice kept on repeating after a series of buzzing and cackling.
"Yeah, yeah, we get it." Lola impatiently ranted, and the voice went on.
"This station has discontinued normal broadcast by the request of the President." The voice droned on, and now the siblings were getting a creepy feeling.
"At approximately three in the afternoon today, several strange figures were seen roaming the streets of Milwaukee. They attacked anything they saw, and it is inadvisable to approach them. The public is urged to remain calm and hide in a safe place until government assistance is provided." The voice explained, and now, text was dashing across the screen.
"Ok, guys, I-I think this is serious..." Lincoln trembled.
"No shit." Luna, Lincoln's older sister, rudely replied.
"Shh!" Luan shushed.
"Please stand by for a message from the President. He is currently being transported to a safe place." The voice came back to life.
After the speech, the broadcast silenced itself and displayed instructions on what to do. Just then, Lucy walked downstairs and saw the broadcast, which almost made her lift up her bangs. She couldn't believe the fact that the spirits had actually predicted this, as their previous claims turned out to be fake.
Just then, a male robotic voice took over, and he started talking.
"The following states are affected by this pandemic and are advised to seek refuge in their local safe zones." He continued, "Every state in the east coast and Midwestern region, including Michigan, Chicago and New Mexico."
The word Michigan struck the kids' hearts. They started contemplating what the voice said, before a siren blared outside their house.
"All residents, stay calm and proceeded to Detroit immediately. The Military has set up a safe zone for the lot of you." A man spoke through the emergency loudspeakers, "Take as little vehicles as you can. If possible, take only one car per family. You are advised to bring your neighbours who don't own a car with you."
Lori, upon hearing this, ordered the kids into Vanzilla, the family van. "Go, go go! Get in! Don't care which seat you take; it's the seat or your life!" She barked at her squabbling siblings, and that made them stop and sit wherever they can reach.
"Wait! How about Mr. Grouse?" Lincoln exclaimed as he pointed to a desperate Mr Grouse, their neighbour. "Louds! Help me! Please!" He exclaimed, arms waiving for help. He wasn't the best of neighbours, but he was somewhat friendly at times.
"Fine, but if anything bad happens, you're gonna be on the Pretzel Stall's menu." Lori agreed and pulled over. Mr Grouse squeezed in, and he profusely thanked everyone.
"Don't mention it. Now let's go!" Lincoln replied before gesturing for Lori to strp on the gas pedel. Soon, the van dashed down the street, barely avoiding the other vehicles. However, a group of guard soldiers nearby weren't so lucky. A sudden wave of zombies appeared from the woods and attacked them, biting them in the process. Then, more and more zombies appeared, and cars came to a halt. Zombies then climbed onto the cars and cracked open the windscreens before devouring their victims. Seeing all this made everyone in the van gasp. However, Lincoln had an idea.
"Lori, don't stop!" He suddenly screamed, but she already had her foot on the brake. Lincoln then instructed her, "Go faster. Don't be scared."
"Are you crazy? You're gonna get all of us killed!" She yelled in response.
"No, if we stop, they'll eat out brains out and we all die!" Lincoln frantically and uncontrollably screamed before climbing into the driver's seat.
"LINCOLN, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?" Lori shrieked in horror while her brother took over the van. Everyone in the back was gasping and screaming, knowing damn well they were going to die. However, Lincoln's idea proved to be an excellent one, as the van recklessly ran over a bunch of zombies and guts splattered all over the windscreen. He then activated the wipers, and soon they regained their vision. Having already busted their way out of Royal Woods, the Louds drive off to Detroit's Safe Zone.
