A/N: Hi Guys! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in like a year. It's been pretty crazy. Hopefully, I will be updating a lot more frequently now. Season five is actually what inspired me to get back into the world of fanfiction, because this season blows on so many levels. I hate Elena now more than ever before. I think Damon deserves someone way better (hence, my OC). I'm actually like ten episodes behind now, because I have them all stocked up on my DVR. Please don't flame me just because I haven't been on lately. I just re-read the three sweet reviews the first chapter of "Forever" received, so thank you BellaSalvatore1918, Earwen85, and Laura-LaLa. I really loved reading the reviews and I would love for people to review with some ideas they have for the story. Even a year later, those reviews still make me smile. I'm sorry if there are any grammatical mistakes – I don't have a beta reader. I'm changing the premise of this story, but hopefully you guys still like it. Damon will end up with someone who is NOT ELENA and isn't that what we all want? Also, Damon and Elena never slept together and Elena never forced the cure down Katherine's throat. For all intents and purposes, the cure is lost. They were never sired, she never shut off her emotions, and Damon's not a lost puppy in this one, either. All Delena feelings are strictly from Elena's side. Silas is dead for real and Stefan isn't his doppelganger. (I know I'm taking out a lot of plot, but I'm planning on a plot that requires the full attention of the characters).

"Out of all the choices I've made, I'm sure this will prove to be the worst, but I'm not sorry. I'm not sorry I'm in love with you!" Elena practically yelled at Damon, her face flushed with anger and lust.
Damon couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had spent the better part of year without the love of his life and watching his brother with the love of his life. And now his brother's girl was confessing her love for him. Shit.
"Elena, don't do this to yourself. You haven't been a vampire for very long and your emotions are still heightened. You love Stefan. Don't forget that." Damon said softly, as he took in her now tear-filled eyes.
"No, I don't. I thought I did. But it's you, Damon. It always was." Elena whispered as she stepped closer to Damon, trying to bring his lips down to hers.
"I don't love you, Elena. I never did. I helped protect you for Stefan's sake." Damon stated harshly, using his superior strength to push Elena away from him.
Almost immediately, Elena's tear-filled eyes became replaced by pure ice. Her demeanor changed from a fearful cub to strong lioness.
"Elena, don't." Damon stated calmly, seeing that Elena was a minute away from flicking the pesky switch that controlled her emotions.
"Too late, lover." Elena said, seductively. The shock of Damon's lack of emotion towards her had been too much and she had needed an escape, so she took the easy way out. She had flipped the switch.
"Dammit Elena," Damon swore as Elena sent him one last wink, before speeding out of the room in a blink of an eye.
Later That Night
"Kathy? Where are you?" Elena sang as she strolled through the halls of Mystic Falls High School. She knew Katherine would be there. It was Elena's Graduation. Of course Katherine would show to attempt to ruin it somehow.
"You rang, clone?" Katherine said, as she appeared and learned against a locker lazily.
"I want to come with you." Elena was blunt and to the point. She knew Katherine had a thing about pussyfooting around, and Elena no longer cared whether or not she annoyed her.
"Excuse me?" Katherine laughed in disbelief, her laughter immediately dying as she saw the lack of emotion in Elena's coffee eyes.
"I want to kill people. I want to wreck lives. And I want to do it with you." Elena repeated, without a trace of emotion on her face or in her voice. She knew what she was talking about was "morally wrong", but she couldn't find it in her to care.
"You turned it off," Katherine's eyes brightened in understanding. She knew she could have some real fun with an emotionless Elena.
Elena remained silent and stoic as Katherine straightened her body, and began to circle around Elena's body.
"What could've happened to poor little Elena that convinced her to shut off her emotions?" Katherine playfully wondered aloud. "Did your baby brother die?" She whispered. At Elena's lack of reaction, Katherine knew she was wrong. "Boyfriend troubles?" Katherine guessed, grinning wolfishly when Elena stiffened and her face became filled with hate.
"Are we going to do this or what?" Elena asked impatiently, already dying for fresh human blood.
"Oh yes. Yes, we are." Katherine smiled, and reached out to twirl one of Elena's flowing locks around her finger.

"Damon, you can't just leave." Stefan yelled and Damon walked around his room, grabbing his various belongings.
"Sure I can, Stefan." Damon started lazily, as he started to pack his bourbon into a duffel bag. "The Originals are in New Orleans, Silas is dead, and the hunters are gone. All is well in Mystic Falls." He finished, as he zipped the bag and put it next to his other valuables.
"Did you forget the part where Elena is with Katherine?" Stefan steamed at Damon, close to decking him in the face, despite the fact that Damon could easily overpower him.
"Elena's a vampire. She made her choice. Now she has to live with it." Damon stated carelessly, wishing he hadn't already packed away his bourbon.
"I thought you loved her, Damon! Is this how you treat the woman you love?" Stefan knew it was low, and he was grasping at straws, but he was desperate. He had no chance of finding Elena without Damon and he would prey on his feelings to get his help.
"No! This is how I treat the woman you love!" Damon yelled, finally fed up with Stefan and his incessant babbling about the doppelganger.
Stefan couldn't believe it. He had seen all the looks that passed between Damon and Elena and he was sure there had been something there. Though, now that he thought about it, most of the looks had come from Elena's side. He now had nothing to bargain with and both brothers knew it.
"I helped to protect Elena, because she was the woman that you loved." Damon said softly, choosing to leave out the other reasons for his extended vacation in Mystic Falls. Stefan didn't need to know. "Now she's gone. And you need to get over it." His spiteful persona returning, as he hastily continued to pack, eager to put a lot of miles between him and Mystic Falls.
"Where are you going to go?" Stefan asked, resigned to fact that Damon was going to do whatever he wanted to do. Nobody controlled him.
"I dunno." Damon shrugged, knowing exactly where he was going to go. He didn't need Stefan coming after him when things went to hell. As they obviously would.
"What if the Originals come back?" Stefan pondered, as Damon rolled his eyes and continued to pack. Of course Stefan wouldn't offer to help – that'd make him helpful.
"You'll deal with it." Damon waved him off, he stomach already tight with excitement at the thought of seeing her again. He had been gone more than a year. He deserved this. He deserved to see her.
"Deal with it? You don't just deal with an Original, Damon!" Stefan yelled, his temper flaring when he saw Damon's impassive face. He was slow to admit it, but he knew none of them stood a chance without Damon. He was the brain and the muscle of the group. Without him they were fucked.
"Stefan! This is not my problem anymore. And it doesn't have to be yours either. Just leave." Damon suggested before pulling on the zipper of his final bag. He was so done with all this Mystic Falls shit. It was like every day was the start of the Apocalypse.
"See you in ten years," Damon smirked and threw his bags of his shoulder as he sauntered out of his room. Stefan didn't reply – and instead thought of the hell that they would be facing without Damon.
What'd ya think? Damon is probably going to be the only TVD character in the story for a few chapters - but who isn't in love with Damon? Please review with your thoughts about my story. There is a very awesome past between Damon and my OC – it will be explained in future chapters.
