A Vector, Blaze and Silver Story

Chapter 1: Chaotic Reunion

Central City was in shambles following the aftermath of the attempted robbery of the G.U.N. storage vault. Many civilians were assisting in cleaning up what remained of the wreckage. One of them was the psychokinetic hedgehog himself, Silver. He was moving some of the heavier debris when someone came up behind him gently tapping him on the head. "Hey! What was that for?" He turns seeing a familiar crocodile.

Vector stood there looking down at him. "I see you got your hands full there, Silver."

"Vector! Great to see you again. Are you here to help lend a hand with the clean up?"

"Actually, I'm here on business. I'm following up on some missing person reports that a few people called in. Once I saw you here, I figured I'd see if you wanted in."

Silver nods his head a bit energetically. "You bet. Every little bit can help keep the future how it is. Will Espio and Charmy be helping us?"

Vector scratches his head a bit at the question. "Funny thing about that."

Their conversation is cut short from the sudden appearance of a large mechanical dragoon.

Vector cracks his knuckles ready to fight. "Looks like we got company!"

Silver examines the dragoon closely. "Is there something familiar about that machine?"

"Worry about that later. Right now we need to take it down before it ruins what you fixed." He runs over to the dragoon punching it right in the snout.

The dragoon snaps at the croc nearly getting him only for Silver to plug its mouth with a steel beam.

"Thanks, Silver."

Silver flies up on top of the beast concentrating his power on its head. "What!? No affect!?" He was then thrown off the dragoon.

Vector runs down the dragoon's side looking for any other weak points. "Silver, go for the tail! That must be where the weak point is!"

Silver soars over to the tail finding a giant energy core at the end. "Found it. Now just to…" He attempts to land on it only to have Vector grab him.

"We can't hit it directly. That think is electrified."

"There's nothing around here strong enough to do enough damage to it."

The dragoon turns back to them screeching as it lunges for them. However, it suddenly stops once a purple blur swoops passed it.

Vector looks around seeing the purple blur. "Hey! Isn't that…!?"

Just then, the familiar speedster appeared above the dragoon launching a fire blast at it damaging its exoskeleton as well as its energy core.

Silver looks up at their savior all excited and jittery. "I know those flames anywhere!"

The dragoon powers down in front of them as their friend walks up to them from on top of the machine revealing herself to be Blaze the Cat. "I guess this dragon doesn't know that other creatures can handle fire too."

Vector climbs up onto the dragoon standing before her. "Talk about arriving in the nick of time, princess."

Blaze crosses her arms. "That's right. We didn't meet last time. It's actually queen now, Vector."

Silver flies up to his friend kneeling before her. "It's with great honor that I welcome you back to our home dimension."

The feline laughs a bit as she stands her friend up. "You don't have to do that every time I show up, Silver."

"I know. So what brings you here?"

"Tangle and I were coming to visit. I had some business to attend to, so she had a head start of me. Have you two seen her?"

Vector shakes his head no. "Haven't seen her. Nor have I seen some others around."

Blaze had a concerned look on her face. "What do you mean?"

"I think it's better if we discuss this back at the Chaotix HQ. Follow me." The crocodile jumps down off the machine as he leads the way to his Agency with Blaze following behind him.

Silver follows them asking them something a bit frantically. "Guys, wait! What about the dragon machine? Shouldn't we…?" He turns to where it was only to see it suddenly gone. "Huh? It was just here. Where did…?"

"Silver, are you coming or not?" Vector asked him as he continued on his way.

"Coming!" He runs back over to them following them to the Chaotix HQ.

Near the top of one of Central City's skyscrapers was a heavy-set figure in a dark hood much like the others before him. "So this is my only obstacle. Perfect." He looks up at the sky faintly making out the Lost Hex. "They won't be a problem at all."
