"Phantom," said Luminous.

They were on the Lumiere, in Phantom's sitting-room. Phantom was sitting on an ornately decorated chair at the wooden coffee table, reading a book.

"Yes, Lumi?" asked Phantom, not looking up from his book.

"Draw me like one of your French girls," he requested.

"Pardon?" Phantom flicked his gaze to Luminous, who looked resolute.

"I said, draw me like one of your French girls," repeated Luminous. He held Phantom's gaze for a few seconds before Phantom turned away.

"Sure," said Phantom, shrugging. Not that big of a deal, just gotta dig up that old charcoal set way in the back of the storage room, and find an easel…do I even have any easels left? Gotta check. But still, what a strange request from that prudish Luminous. I wonder what's going on. All these thoughts flitted through his head before he shrugged again and continued reading.

"Wearing this," continued Luminous, holding up a necklace. There was a golden ornament in the shape of Phantom's insignia, a crescent moon surrounding a flat circle and a circular red ruby embedded on the surface, of course with intricate designs in both the circle and the moon. It was connected by the bail to a simple gold chain. Phantom had given it to Luminous a few years ago as a birthday gift.

Phantom looked at Luminous again, and then turned to the necklace Luminous held. "Sure," he said, shrugging for the third time. So what about the necklace? It's sweet that he wants to wear it, but..

"Wearing only this."

Phantom froze, processing the words. After about five minutes, he choked on his own spit and whipped around to face Luminous.

"WHAT?!"
