Sammy, do you remember when you'd pick the lock on my candy box for candy? I knew it was you, but I kept buying them anyway because I knew you liked them.

Sammy, do you remember when dad left us alone for the first time? I was so scared, but I put up a brave face for you when dad didn't come back on time.

Sammy, do you remember the first time you got shot? Dad told me not to give you the good meds, but I hated seeing you cry. Watching you sleep painlessly was worth the extra laps.

Sammy, do you remember the last thing you said to me before Jake stabbed you? The last thing you did was to call out to me, and the last thing you heard was me call out for you.
