Voldemort looked with mild curiosity down at the tiny creature that was squirming in the lavishly decorated crib.

"So?" came a voice from behind him. "What do you think?" Cygnus Black sounded like he was about to have a heart attack, as they both stood over his newborn daughter's bed.

The enthusiasm over the new addition to the pureblood community and especially to the Black Family had slightly died out when it had been confirmed it was not a boy, but Cygnus was quite excited about being a dad. Still, his newborn daughter had to pass a very important test right now: being liked by Tom Riddle. His... old classmate was not a fan of babies, so he was nervous about his reactions. It was odd really, how this man's opinion mattered more than his own in such a personal matter, and yet, he couldn't ignore the delicate wrinkle that had appeared between his lord's eyebrows.

"We are thinking of naming her Andromeda," he began hastily, to distract him from the actual baby. "It is a pretty name, beautiful myth behind it and follows the Black family tradition, being star-related."

Voldemort remained quiet, just tilted his head to the side, as he characteristically did when he was thinking, usually a sinister sign. Cygnus was hoping with all his might the little girl wouldn't start crying now, because that would be the end of it. But the newborn seemed quite interested in its surroundings, was looking with obvious fascination around and didn't appear to be in a mood for crying.

Instead, she raised her tiny hands, fat fists grasping the air. To Cygnus' surprise, his lord extended his long left index finger and let the infant close its hand around it and pull. Voldemort's expressionless face was hard to read, but the baby had turned a little red from the effort; she was also giggling silently.

Voldemort opened his mouth to speak and Cygnus braced himself, when a small zaaap was heard, and his lord retrieved the finger hastily, as a light shock of electricity ran through his body.

For the first time since he had entered the room, his lord smirked.

"Andromeda, you say?" Those piercing eyes gave him a mischievous look. "With a temper like that I doubt she would have agreed to stay chained to a rock and wait to be eaten by a sea monster. She would have probably taken down the beast herself, the warrior she is."

He turned his attention back to the infant and raised his wand this time. A silver-blue flame came out of the tip and connected the wand to the baby's head, as she looked at it in awe.

"No, Cygnus, this is Bellatrix."

A/N: Thank you for reading, please let me know what you think.

Note: Bellatrix is Latin for Amazon, a female warrior, so Voldemort is making a very rational though. Just because someone mentioned it.
