Hazel swung her feet over the edge of the temple. She smiled. Today was a good day. She had spent the afternoon with her friends, and she was waiting for her brother. They would have talks on their own, talking, laughing, and genuinely having a good time. She wondered if Bianca had this kind of relationship with Nico as she leaned back, closed her eyes, and rested on the roof. She failed to notice that Nico was right behind her.

"Having fun there?" Nico laughed.

"Gah! Don't do that!" She said as she slapped his leg. "You know it scares me."

"Don't you think that's why I do it?"

"Meh." Hazel rolled her eyes. Nico was her big brother, so she guessed he had the right. But that doesn't mean she had to like it.

Don't get her wrong. She loved her brother to death. Hazel had been depressed when he was captured, and in Tartarus. She had been elated to find that he was alive. She hugged him so hard, that he complained that she was going to be the one to send him to Hades.

But he was making fun of her which she did not appreciate.

"Sit."

"Why yes Miss Levesque. I would be very happy to sit next to you. If you say the magic word."

"Please."

"Please, what?" Nico smirked. He liked pushing Hazel's buttons.

"Please sit."

Nico plopped down next to Hazel, and put his arm around her. "So what does my sister want to talk about?"

"I don't know..."

"CoughcoughFrankcough."

"If you want to."

"I didn't say anything. I coughed." Nico put on his most innocent grin. Hazel couldn't help but smile. Nico was only super happy with Reyna and Hazel. Maybe it was because he grew up with his sister, Bianca.

"Right."

Nico laughed. He didn't laugh that much, so it made Hazel feel great when she made him laugh. It was a great achievement.

"So..."

"So, what?"

"So a needle pulling thread." Nico snorted.

"Nice."

"I'm glad you think so."

"Seriously?"

"Yes. Why?"

"I just don't hear that often. It's nice to hear."

"What that no one really asks for your opinion?"

"That obvious, huh?"

"That, and I know you. And I'm glad I know you." Hazel smiled as laid her head on Nico's shoulder. "And I hope I never stop knowing you. You're the best brother I've ever had."

"I'm the only brother you've ever had."

"You know how to spoil a good moment."

"Sorry," Nico full on smiled. "But I've never been really mushy. On purpose."

"You've done it by accident?"

"Dunno. It's accidental."

"Point taken."

They sat there for a little while in silence.

"How's Reyna?"

"Huh?"

"How's Reyna?"

"She's good." Hazel could see that Nico was blushing.

"Have you seen her lately?"

"Yeah." Nico was a red as a cherry.

"You're blushing."

"I am not."

"I can see you blushing. What's been going on?"

"How's Frank?"

"You're not pulling the change the subject thing on me."

"I'll tell you if you answer my question."

"He's fine, but he's still, sorta harsh to Leo."

Nico nodded. He knew about the whole Frank vs. Leo thing.

"Poor Leo."

Hazel stared at him. "And why is that? Frank won't hurt him."

"Does Leo know that?"

"Good point."

"I usually make good points. It's one of my many talents."

"You wish."

"Heck yeah."

Hazel laughed. It was a rich sound. Soft, yet sweet.

"You're so funny sometimes."

"Thanks. I try sometimes."

"I love you. And that's not going to change." Hazel hugged her brother. "Not if I can help it."

"I'll help too. I'm not going to lose twice."

Hazel sighed. "What if you can't do anything about it?"

"Let's not think about that."

"Okay."

A signal blared.

"I guess we have to get to the forum for roll call."

"Right."

They ran together. The had a bond that most people didn't understand. And the two children of Hades thought it was one of the most precious things they had.
