Chapter 1: A Monster
Remus John Lupin was at his ultimate low. Rejection is a strong emotion, and you'd be surprised how many times it served this particular boy. Ever since he got bit, Remus was shunned. His neighbors never knocked on his door to go play outside anymore. Even his own parents acted like he was a ticking bomb, exploding on the full moon of every month. Remus couldn't even look at his own reflection anymore, he brushed his teeth facing away from the mirror and never looked into lakes or ponds, anticipating to see a horrifying wolf instead of his own self.
When Remus had finally convinced his parents, John and Alicia Lupin to let him go to Durmstrang, he was ecstatic. On the beginning of the term, Remus bid his farewell to John and Alicia and started his voyage to Durmstrang. A few minutes in, a bell-horn blew, and announced "Attention young men of Durmstrang, I require silence"-beat- "Will Remus John Lupin please make his way to the professor's lounge,". Remus was taken aback, but the other students made way and Remus drudged his way to the Professor's Lounge.
Thirty minutes later, the ship turned around, and stopped at New Dhurshire, the sea town in which Remus lived in. Remus got off the boat and hung his head in shame. "Oh, honey, we heard all about it, the Headmaster just flooed us. I'm so sorry honey, I never saw this coming.", said Alicia, expectantly waiting for him to reply. -beat- "Please, honey, its ok, everything will work out. The Headmaster was a bloody idiot to kick you out. You should never be judged for who you are, Remmie. Lets go back home and talk about this after you've slept on it."
Back home in his burgundy house, Remus rushed to his room. Not able to control the flow of tears threatening to escape, he turned on the faucet and buried his face into the pillow. The water droplets gushed out of his eyes, reminding him of every time he had wanted to cry before, but was too vain to actually admit defeat.
Remus got up from his bed, and for the first time in seven years, he forced himself to look in the mirror and watch his reflection.
"A monster...that's what I am, all I am, and all I'll ever be...a monster"
