Hit Me, Baby (One More Time)
An NCIS Drabble.
The only thing that was stopping Ziva from launching herself at their perpetrator was the knowledge that Gibbs would kill her if she struck first. McGee and a sailor, dressed to impress, were restraining the culprit, and the only reason Gibbs was not yet over in his face was because he had stopped to see if Tony was alright.
Tony was on the ground, his nose held tightly between his fingers, blood escaping through the gaps. There was a real possibility that not only was it broken but also that his jaw was as well. Gibbs was trying to get Tony to turn on his side, attempting to get the blood to fall away from him and allowing him to draw breath. His chest was expanding and retracting at a dangerous rate as he struggled to breathe. Tony's lung capacity would never be the same as before he contracted the plague, but on top of that he was quickly becoming panicked, both at the lack of air and recent events.
Ducky and Palmer hurried over with the ambulance that Ziva had called.
Only Ziva and Gibbs had seen the punch Tony had been delivered. He had been too far ahead for either of them to help, and it was only after the fact that they had been able to apprehend the culprit. Tony hadn't seen the punch coming, and hadn't had time to react.
Now that the ambulance had arrived and were seeing to Tony's injuries, Gibbs turned to the handcuffed man. There was a feral grin in Gibbs' eye that Ziva admired. Gibbs shooed McGee and the sailor away and roughly maneuvered the offender into the backseat of their car. Leaning down, Gibbs expressed the first of many views on the many mistakes the criminal had made.
"Your biggest mistake wasn't scamming your superior officer."
The man had the decency to look confused.
"Oh no," Gibbs continued. "Your biggest mistake was striking a federal agent – my agent – while I was watching. We have a rule on my team that you need to understand."
He leaned even closer and lowered his voice to just above a whisper.
"Nobody is allowed to hit DiNozzo but me." And he slammed the car door shut in disgust.
A/N: I know, sorta short and lacking of dialogue, but I wrote it and wanted to see what you guys thought. So let me know, yeah. A simple "it was great" would suffice. You can even copy and paste the it was great above. Or the one I just typed. Either/or.
A/N2: Okay so a couple people have asked me to expand this, more specifically telling the reader what exactly Gibbs would do to the suspect, or to anyone for that matter, who hit DiNozzo. However I am not going to do so. I like the story's ending as is and honestly think that each reader's individual imagination can come up with something fantastic for Gibbs to do that would make him all badass. So sorry, it won't be continued. I do intend to write other Tonywhump fics, both slash and friendship, so anyone craving that stay tuned. For this short drabble, the end is here.
