Grumpy scowled as he shoveled away at the excess gems, muttering angrily to himself. This was the fifth time that he had to stay behind and work while everyone else was resting and enjoying Happy's delicious food. Meanwhile, here he was, stuck down in this stupid mine shoveling away these stupid gems so they can finish this stupid job in the morning. Throwing his shovel down, he stamped his feet as he started hitting whatever he could to calm himself down.

He kicked out at a pile of dirt, knocking it down and causing the tiny gems to go everywhere. He punched the air a few times, and even banged his fists against the mine cart he took to get down here. He let out a loud scream and snatched up his shovel, hitting it against the mine cart and breaking the shovel after he hit the cart a second time. Feeling far better after his little outburst, Grumpy sat down and crossed his arms, scowling darkly as he grunted unhappily.

He huffed and stood up to get back to work, not even aware of Happy making his way over to him. Upon reaching Grumpy, Happy giggled and tapped his shoulder, grinning even wider when he whipped around to face him.

"Hey Grumpy, here's your dinner. I thought I'd come down here and take over since you must be hungry." Happy said, handing Grumpy the plate of food. "You also get extras since you've been working so hard."

Grumpy shook his head in disbelief, quickly putting the plate back in Happy's hands. He forced a smile on his freckled face as he mumbled.

"No, no. Just sit right here with my food. I'm almost finished with the stupid thing anyways, might as well finish it now that I have something other than an empty stomach to work for." He marched off to go look for a new shovel while Happy sat down right where he was standing.

Soon enough, Grumpy had finished. Once he returned to Happy he sat down next to the giddy dwarf and took the plate from his hands. Before he could even dig in, Happy leaned over and kissed his cheek. Grumpy looked at him, blushing and frowning, while Happy gazed at him with a wide smile. "What was that supposed to be?" Grumpy fumed.

"A kiss, silly. It was to thank you for all your hard work!" Happy replied. Grumpy simply rolled his eyes, digging in and offering to share some of his food with Happy. They both ate together, Happy sometimes breaking out song or Grumpy going off into a small rant on what bothered him. For once, working overtime wasn't so bad.
