The Least Honourable Warrior
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I am dead
The least honourable of warriors
I fought for the wrong side. I didn't want to, he forced me to.
I was happy until he came.
I had a family until he came.
He took it all away. I hid. I ran. But he took it out on my family. He killed my youngest daughter. He wanted his army as large as he could get it. If I hadn't joined he would have killed the others. My wife, my children, my sisters, my mother. My friends.
The other side didn't care. I would have pleaded for my life. Just to see what was left of my family again. But I didn't have a chance. An arrow through the chest and a fall from high places doesn't give you much time for last requests. Yet that pain didn't match the sorrow of knowing I wouldn't see my children grow. I wouldn't grow old. I had feared aging before, now I long for it. My family will never know how I died, they will only know that I went, and I fought, for the side that lost. They think I wanted to fight, like the other men. From the moment I had run off, they thought I had joined. They didn't know why the ugly ones some call orcs came at night and took my dear Kaeryn's life. They never knew that I, a man of the south had fought being conscripted.
Every step of the way.
I died without honour. Fighting for the wrong side against my will. At least I know the dark lord lost. At least I know there was some justice done. But not for me
The least honourable of warriors.

[A/N: This is my first fanfiction. I wrote it in History class as well as another, which I don't think is as good. I was originally going to do this one about an orc who hadn't wanted to fight, but I just couldn't justify it right. Just after I wrote this I watched TTT extended edition DVD and this line caught my attention because of my story
"I wonder what promises and threats were made to him. I wonder if he was truly evil at heart."- Faramir, TTT]
