When we were young

Remember the trouble?

On our knees, begging for mercy,

Because we had an excuse for everything.

Recall the gardens,

And all the flowers!

We tossed them into the lake.

Remember Exhibition Day?

Of dares and daring fun?

Between every match we'd fool around

Not knowing our future Masters were watching.

Do you remember...

That time before your world went dark?

The days before the war?

We'd talk instead of meditate;

You'd let me play with your hair.

We'd pretend that we were somewhere else

And remember past adventures

That took us up and down the garbage chute-literally!

You were so open to talk about anything,

So I opened my heart to you.

We thought that we'd be young forever

Though we never said it aloud.

Even as Jedi, we were as youthful as could be.

Like all friends, we had friendship to share.

Try not to remember

That day you left for battle

After Geonosis,

Without a single word of goodbye.

Because it changed you, Anakin,

You're so different now.

Do you even remember

How great being a Jedi can be?

We've both grown up

And time has changed.

You could never remember

Because you're now a stranger.
