Disclaimer: Logan and Jean don't belong to me, and the song in this fic is called 'Rain Song' by 'Cold'. That doesn't belong to me either, in case you were wondering.

A/N: This story takes place in a universe I created, where Jean and Logan were married. This happens shortly after the events in my other fic, 'Cure My Tragedy'.

---------------

Everytime it Rains

---------------

When it rains, I don't mind

Let me stand here all night

Did she take her own life?

Let me know she's alright

And everytime it rains, I feel her holdin' me

And everytime it rains, are the angels cryin'?

---------------

Logan stood out on the porch of his cabin, the place he and his wife Jean called home. She had died a week earlier, but for Logan, every agonizing day that went by since, was like her dying in his arms all over again.

As he stood out on the porch, Logan realized how truly alone he was, how alone and hollow he felt. When Jean was with him, he was at peace, really happy. There wasn't even a word to describe how happy he had been. She used to suffocate him lovingly with the smell of her shampoo, just like a summer rain. He longed for her touch once again, his soul aching to reach out to her, to be together as one, like they were meant to be.

Logan walked slowly down the porch steps and stared up at the sky. It was cloudy, rain weather. Jean had died while it was raining, after that, it hadn't rained since. As the rain drops began to come down from the sky, slowly at first, then fast, Logan felt as if his wife's presence was with him.

---------------

I'll stay strong, I'll be fine

Carry on, with my life

I'll still stare at the sky

Pray for rain, all the time

Why'd you run?

Did you hide?

Why'd you leave no goodbye?

When the clouds take the sky

Does the storm give you life?

It began to pour, and Logan didn't have a care in the world. He let the cool water wash over him, filling the empty space left in his soul after Jean's death. Memories of their wedding, and other heartfelt times ran through his head, and he opened his eyes to remember that those times were gone, no more good memories like that would be there to fill the void.

Logan clenched his eyes shut, falling to his knees on the soft wet earth. He took his head in his hands and yelled, howling up at the sky. "Why did you take her from me?!?!" He shouted, anger and sadness pumping through his veins. Logan's clothes were soaked through from the downpour, but he didn't care.

After silence washed over everything, Logan heard a voice in his head, Jean's voice. It was her last words to him, her dying breath...she said, "I love you Logan."

Jean meant the world to him, and now that she was gone, Logan didn't know if he was going to make it through this. He promised to love Jean forever, that he wouldn't stop loving her. That was true, more than he could ever imagine.

Logan shakily got to his feet, tears streaming down his face, mixing in with the rain. He knew when the rain would fall, he would think of Jean. He would imagine himself holding her, smelling her hair, kissing her...and Logan knew, he would never be the same.

And everytime it rains, I feel her holdin' me

And everytime it rains, are the angels cryin'?

And everytime it rains, I feel her holdin' me

And everytime it rains, all the angels cry for me

I'll never be the same
