Jaune,Ren,and Nora immediately noticed Ruby's mood change. Qrow Branwen died and along with him Ruby's happy-go-lucky personality did too. They were back in patch a woman with Crimson eyes that none of them have seen before brought them back through some portal thing.
Then they soon learned the woman was Raven Branwen twin sister of Qrow. They waited outside of Ruby's home Yang was with them. She tried getting Ruby to come out,to eat,to let go of the tattered red cape. Her father tried to as well but no such luck.
Raven and Taiyang stared at each other,Crimson met Blue. "Your going to tell her or should I" Raven said with a icy cold tone. She had Qrow's weapon Strapped to her back one of the other momentum's of her Brother. She has his necklace laying within a hidden pocket of her clothes. The two sliver bands that he wore where for something else that she would do for her brother. Taiyang knew he had to let this happen. Even though it would break the illusion of his little family,Ruby had to know.
He stepped aside to let Raven enter the room. Ruby was huddled up in a corner her back to the wall. A tattered red cape clutched in her hands. Raven removed the hybrid weapon from her back and set it in front of the girl who was suffering.
"You know Qrow always didn't have the cape with him. …Your mother gave it to him." Raven said softly as she reached out to touch Ruby's shoulder. Ruby lifted her head to look at the woman. The woman was her uncle's sister but her red eyes where darker unnerving in Ruby's opinion. Her eyes shifted down to the weapon her uncle's weapon.
Raven sighed before taking a deep breath. "He …..would want you to keep it. I know he would want you to keep it. The only other scythe user is you." Raven heard footsteps she looked behind it was Taiyang but he wasn't the only one who entered,Yang her daughter was glaring at her. Taiyang motioned for Yang to take a seat once all four occupants where settled in the room. Ruby shifted her gaze from Yang to Raven. Tai stared at his balled up fists not wanting to see his little family break.
Raven began to tell Ruby the Truth. Yang eyes where wide not believing a word coming out the woman who was supposed to be her mother. It couldn't be true right she looked at her father for some type of confirmation that this was some lie. Taiyang just stared straight ahead he couldn't meet Yang's eyes. Ruby stares at the red cape laying in her lap. The person who she was always happy to see,the person that always seem to be there at the right moment to keep her safe,the person who would comfort her when she had nightmares as a child,the person who always gave her gifts on her birthdays.
The one who taught her how to use a Scythe was not her Uncle but her Father. She closed her eyes and buried her head into her kness. Taiyang and Raven stared at one another after Raven finished her crimson gaze looked a bit off like she was lost in thought.
~Two Weeks later~
TeamRJNR stood near the gravestone of Summer Rose. Raven,Taiyang and Yang stood behind them though it wasn't just one gravestone now there was another. Solid Ivory an emblem craved into it the name of veteran hunter craved in as well. The words below the name read 'thus I let your wings soar'
Ruby kneeled in front of the gravestone her fingers tracing the name. Her other hand tightening on the red cape that she now wore. She was wearing the cape as a sign of respect to her teacher, to her confidant but most of all to her father who she hoped now found peace along side her mother. She lifted the hood that she attached to her blouse it was the same color as the billowing cape behind her. Crescent rose on her back and her father's weapon lay in a case in her room.
