A.N. This is a random plot bunny that popped into my head. I have no idea if I'll continue it, and if I do, I have no idea where it's going.

"How could you choose him when you could have had me?" Jet screamed. He began to spin, turning his two already dangerous hooked blades into a tornado of steel. Katara brought her water up higher, pulled more from the air, and spun her hands. The bubble turned into a tornado of water.

"How could you Katara? Well, if I can't have you, there's no way he can!" Jet yelled furiously. He advanced on the girl, still spinning his swords. Katara, in the center of the tornado, blew cold air onto the water. It turned to ice, but continued to whirl at her command. With no warning, she broke it into still-spinning spikes, and just as Jet's swords were about to connect with it, she stopped the spikes dead and pinned Jet to the ground with two of them. The others hovered behind her protectively.

"Jet, never come near me again. It is my choice, and you would never be the one I would choose," Katara stated coldly. She turned to leave, and only the whistle in the air warned her in time to duck. Jet's sword swung past her ear. She spun on her heel to see a shirtless Jet holding his swords at the ready. His shirt was still pinned by her ice spikes. Jet lunged at her with the dagger end of one of his hooked swords. She ducked, froze the blade so that it wasn't sharp, and then used the ice on it to fling it into a tree behind the crazed boy. "Jet! Calm down before I have to hurt you," Katara growled.

She swung her leg out and knocked his feet out from under him, but he just leapt back to his feet. "Fighting is for boys, Katara. And you're mine!" Jet roared. He threw his body at hers, knocking her to the ground. Katara just rolled them so that she was on top, called the water from Jet's sword to her hand, froze it into a glove, and punched Jet with it. He went limp under her.

"I'm sorry, Jet. But I tried to warn you. You just wouldn't listen. You never do," Katara said quietly. She walked out of the clearing with a sigh. "Why can no one be happy with my choice?" She asked herself with a sigh. After a few moments, she turned in the direction of the ocean. Once she reached the shore, she stared up at the metal ship floating about twenty yards out in the sea. Then she heard someone calling her name from the direction of the forest. She ignored it, though, and waterbent herself out to the ship. She used a pillar of water to lift her onto the deck, and the water set her down gently and gracefully. A small, content smile graced her face.

"Ah, there you are. How did he take the news?" Asked a voice from the shadows. She relaxed visibly at the voice, and walked over. A pair of pale arms reached out, and she settled into them. The arms pulled her against a warm chest.

"Well, he took it better than Sokka," She replied.

"When do you plan on telling Aang?" Asked the voice.

"Soon, I promise. You know something?" Katara asked.

"Well, I know a lot of things, but I'd assume you were talking about something in particular," replied the man with a grin.

I love you, Zuko." Katara answered quietly. She snuggled closer to her love's chest. "Do you know what today is?" She asked.

"Today is your fifteenth birthday, the day you told Jet about us at my request because he was around, and the third day since I agreed with you that I will teach the Avatar firebending and help end the war." Zuko replied smartly. "Did I miss anything?"

"No, I think that covers it. Oh, and the day I told you I love you for the first time," Katara corrected.

"By the way, I love you too," Zuko replied. Then, he caught her lips in a soft kiss, blissfully unaware of the pair of angry grey eyes watching the two teens from the shadows. Safe to say, Aang was not happy.
