Watanuki unlocked the door to their apartment quietly and left his shoes by the front stoop, peering down the short hallway. His feet took him the usual path to the bedroom and he smiled a little when he saw that a snoring Doumeki occupied his bed. He debated whether to wake his boyfriend up, but they'd been so swamped with jobs from Yuuko, exams in college, and the archer stressing about his tournaments coming up, he decided not to. Very rarely did Doumeki get to sleep lately, or if he did, it was always restless for some reason and the last thing that Watanuki wanted to do was wake him when he was finally getting rest.

He changed as quietly as he could. Yuuko had kept him late cleaning her house, since she was moving things around again. It had to be three in the morning by now. He tied his longer hair in a ponytail. He had debated about cutting it, it did come down to the middle of his back now after so many years, but Doumeki had managed to convince him not to. He rolled his eyes. The only reason his boyfriend liked it so long was because it gave him something to play with when they talked at night in bed.

Carefully he slipped beneath the covers of the futon and sighed when it didn't appear Doumeki woke up. He was still making bento for that fool after five years, four blissfully in love. Or blissfully when Doumeki wasn't busy pissing him off for some reason or another.

Strong arms wrapped around his chest, surprising him. "Oi. Where were you?"

"I thought you were asleep," he accused, glaring over his shoulder.

"I can't sleep unless you're here," his boyfriend told him as expressionlessly as always and nuzzled the back of his neck.

Watanuki shivered a little and sighed. "Yuuko wants the shop moved around. Still not quite done, but she let me go home finally."

"Mmm." That annoying little sound he got when Doumeki had either nothing to say or wasn't really interested. His arms tightened a little around him and Watanuki's annoyed gaze softened at the proprietary and loving gesture of his boyfriend. Half-asleep, his Shizuka couldn't really do much to offend him since frankly, he looked adorable like that.

"Go back to sleep," he told him, snuggling his head into the pillow, a tad gruffly but with an endearing edge. "You don't get enough sleep as it is."

"And who's fault is that?"

Watanuki blushed and he kicked out gently behind him, connecting with an ankle. "Shut up and just go back to sleep, all right?"

"Nngh."

But by the rise and fall of that well-muscled chest brushing against his back, Watanuki knew his boyfriend was back to sleep. He shifted a little so he could look behind him at that sleeping face easier and he leaned forward, whispering something into that ear that he rarely ever said.

"I love you, Shizuka."

In his sleep, Doumeki smiled.
