A City Sleeps
By LucasBravvus97
Based on Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
An ancient, beautiful city,
Sleeps beneath the ocean waves,
As frosty, frigid ocean water,
Fills up the city's ancient caves.
A wondrous place it was to be,
The people kind and filled with love.
A benevolent King watched over all,
As did the mighty Gods above.
The gleaming truly city was,
A blessed sort of place.
Then though did that demon emerge,
With flowing hair cov'ring her face.
A truly monstrous being was she,
The size of ten great mountains.
Shadows, like blood, poured from her fingers,
O'er the city like hellish fountains.
With her mighty, demon hand,
The city she did smite.
Its people cried and begged for help,
Out into the endless night.
Until four mighty warriors came,
Glowing with light like the Sun.
A duel they fought with the Shadow Queen,
A duel that the warriors won.
So down into darkness did She fall,
Through a vast hole in the town.
The city's magnificent structures,
Falling and tumbling down.
So now the ruined city lies,
Beneath the waves in endless sleep.
The memories of its fallen people,
Echoing off the ocean deep.
