Lissa leaned back on the chair, rubbing her temples, her eyes falling shut as a headache pounded behind her skull, distracting her from anything else she had wanted to do. Although she was getting used to the headaches, the pain they caused never lessened. It only seemed to get worse, making her want to curl up and sleep it off.

Of course, she couldn't do that. Lissa was surprised when she did find time to sleep lately. With all the work she had to do in preparation for the next meeting, hoping to get her proposal for the new age law through so that it could be overturned.

She only hoped she could get it through. Even as Queen, she couldn't just snap her fingers to get things done. She had to go through the proper channels, making sure everything was done officially and legally so that those that opposed her had no reasons to try and stop the laws apart from what they wanted themselves. And Lissa knew who the ones were the opposed her leadership and her decisions and, as much as she hated it, she continued on, smiling extra sweet at them.

Out of habit, wanting a distraction, Lissa reached out with her mind. Although she had never learnt how to get into Rose's head properly, she could sometimes, when she concentrated hard enough, that was she could feel Rose within her mind. The thought was comforting and she felt completely safe.

When she reached out with her mind, she felt nothing and, at first, assumed it was because Rose was too busy to be in Lissa's head at that moment. That was until it all clicked back into place and the young Queen was left staring at the wall across from her in complete and utter confusion.

Rose and I are no longer bonded...

The feeling that rolled through her made her feel almost nauseous. Although it had been sometime since the bond had been broken, a moment of forgetfulness, of wanting to feel Rose checking up on her again was all it took to completely deflate her.

She missed it. Their bond was special, it only made their friendship that much stronger and without it, and now with Rose completely head over heels in love, Lissa feared she was losing her best friend. Her sister in so many ways.

Lissa could never hate anything that made Rose happy, or anyone, but a small part of her was jealous over Rose being in love. Over the fact that someone was in her life that took precedence over her, even if Rose denied it Lissa knew that Dimitri was her number one, she would go to him whenever he needed her. She knew and she understood it and could never, ever, hate her for it. Or even resent her. Rose being happy was something Lissa had wanted for so long and was glad her best friend finally felt it.

But the feeling of being completely alone didn't waver. She had lost her bond with Rose, lost Christian to Adrian, her family, any bond she could have with Jill would never be completely solid, she didn't think she could handle losing Rose completely too.

Rose...I know you can't hear me...I miss you so much...
