AN: This is not particularly 'fanfiction' as such, just one of my own stories. It is a love story, with a twist. I hope you enjoy reading, and don't give-up on this story before the 'twist' comes.

Before I begin, I should probably let you know... Unlike most stories, we are not going to start from the beginning, we will start before the beginning. Although at the time it was thought the beginning was now, they were wrong, it was only an intro to the real story worth reading. We begin the story when the Heroine realised her feelings.

It's never easy transferring to a new School. Having to learn your way around a whole new building... -A bigger one at that-, having to meet all new Teachers, leaving all supposed friends behind. However, when leaving a Public, rather low-in-the-league-tables, sort of School, to enter a Private Academy known throughout the Country, it seems worth the while. 6 months ago, May went through exactly that.
Unlike in a normal situation, leaving behind her old school wasn't difficult at all, and strangely enough fitting in to her new school was not difficult either. You see, May was originally in an all girls School, full of the less intelligent, despite this, May had become what is known as a 'nerd'. Rather than going shopping, she spent her time playing Video Games, rather than crying about failing an exam, she would scorn herself for not getting full marks. She was different, to everyone. In the new school however, most everyone played Video games, and were what is known as 'nerds', May quickly fitting into the most 'nerdy' group.

Although the nerdy group quickly adopted her as one of their own, it was another person who stuck by her side mainly. A guy, probably just as much of a nerd as May, not the brightest of the bunch, but matching May's own intelligence easily. A spectacled tall guy, not really stunning or anything, just your average teenage guy with a slightly spotted face, a small amount of stubble but soft-looking brown hair. The guy, Aaron, in May's class, was her friend right from the start.
It was funny how much time the two spent together, taking up different activities just so they could spend time together, attending after-school clubs twice a week for that extra hour and a half together. They did sit there arguing, both being as stubborn as the other, but always smiling.

It was 3 months into May's time at her new School when she realised her feelings for Aaron.

It was strange how she suddenly began to think about him constantly, dream about him being close to her. Constantly she debated whether to confess her feelings to him, but decided against it so as not to wreck their friendship.
It was getting harder for May to be around Aaron, every time she saw him her face lit up yet she would blush. Her heart would start racing. Sometimes, she would even get short of breath. She learnt how to handle this , and began to continue on with their normal friendship, attending all the club activities with him, staying after school and the such. But May, knew her feelings full and well, and allowed herself to believe that Aaron would never like a girl like herself.

May, was the least 'girly' girl a person could come across. She was never a particularly sympathetic person, but could feign kindness to strangers in need, she also was not the best looking person, not really the slimmest of people and rather short, she would never be caught dead in a skirt of any kind, never mind a did have dirty blonde hair, naturally streaked with the sort of 'desirable blonde', but she always kept it tied back. Not the kind of girl the average guy would be looking for. Not the kind of girl she believed Aaron would be looking for.
