I found this story on my computer. I wrote it about a month and half ago and didn't know what to do with it, so I figured I may as well post it. Sorry if it's bad, I wrote it at 12:30 in the morning.

"Papa," asked Peter, "what's it like being a nation?"

"Hard." Berwald sat down in the rocking chair in the living room often used for storytelling, signaling Peter to sit nearby.

"And why is it hard? Paperwork?"

"No."

Peter was beginning to show some signs of frustration. "Then what is it?"

"So much. You'll learn soon enough."

"Am I going to become a nation? Because if it's hard, I don't want to do it." Peter's feelings of happiness were beginning to fade.

"No, Peter. Calm down. It's just that there are so many nations out there who don't seem to understand," Berwald said sadly.

"Understand what?"

"That the world just needs a little peace and love…"

"Peace and love, huh? I can do that!" Peter stood up.

"It's more than that, Peter. It seems like nations today don't seem to understand that being a nation doesn't mean you have to go and harm others. Nations are meant to love one another," Berwald explained, "and while we can't get along all the time, we should when we can."

"Oh, OK. So I'll just stay out of everyone's way and love everyone!"

"Peter, you have to understand that it's really hard to love everyone. Sometimes people will do things that make us angry or sad. You just have to forgive. I learned that after everything that's happened to me over the past thousand years. Sometimes even friends hurt you, and you may not like them after it, but you have to forgive them."

"So peace, love, and forgiveness. Got it!" Peter said, thinking that was everything you needed to be a nation.

"That's not all. There are so many more things that nations should do, but there's too many to name. It's not like they do them anyway."

"But they should do them! We should all get along when we can!" Peter remembered what Berwald had said earlier.

"Thank you, Peter. It's hard to do those things, but we should try as much as we can. We just need to learn that we should care."

Peter gave Berwald a hug, thanking him for answering his question, then scurried off to the kitchen to see what Tino was cooking for dinner.

And there we go! Just a little drabble about loving others. See you later!
