His first kiss with her is not on the mouth.
It's on her cheek, where a fallen eyelash lies, hidden by an adorned blush. He meant to say something, yet nothing came out. But he kissed her all the same, lingering for a second, the increased warmth tangible on his lips. Wonders if their hearts have synchronised, and he brushes away a lock of hair behind her ear.
"Toushirou," Karin blinks, momentarily stunned. Her eyes flutter in confusion. "What was that for?"
A million words, a fountain of thoughts rippling away, leave only stillness in his mind. He has startling clarity that he just can't phrase. "Wanted to."
"Oh." Her expression shifts, and Toushirou doesn't know what he expects. Disappointment? Amusement? "Right."
Then—just as impulsive, she kisses him.
And her first kiss with him is not on the mouth.
It's on his cheek, equally as red as hers.
He thinks, just for one moment, that she's stolen something and he's content to let her keep it.
Pausing, Toushirou savours the moment amidst his surprise, and repeats the question.
"What was that for, Karin?"
Already grinning before he can help himself, her laughter breaks the awkwardness.
"I wanted to."
He's not quite sure what to say next. Except this: "Okay then."
"C'mon." Eyes bright, smile wide, hand outstretched, Karin steps forward and waits for him. "We've got a movie to watch."
Taking her hand, their fingers entwine, and a secret sort of smile spreads on his face.
After that, the blue eyed boy and the black haired never let go, not really.
Until he points out the forgotten eyelash, reminding her to make a wish.
