It was never meant to be like this. I look at Gale and I see something that was never meant to happen. He may not like me much, but I'm making it my mission to help him. He can't look after his brothers and sister, and Katniss' family. It's too much.

"Gale" I call out to him. I've been waiting outside the hob for two hours waiting for him. I was scared of looking suspicious, but the peace keepers completely ignored me. Infact they actually went into the hob. Everybody gave me a second glance, but nobody said anything. "Madge?" He looked at me quizzically. That's news, I didn't think he knew my name. "I didn't think you'd be the kind of person to come and trade here." I notice he's carrying two dead rabbits.

"I..I.. I'm not. I wanted to give you this in return for..." Why am I stumbling over my words? I give him the money I've been holding. He takes it in his hand and throws it back at me.

"I don't want your charity, rich girl." He says coldly.

"It's not charity! And it's not for you. It's for Prim, Vick, Posy, Rory…" I trail off, but thrust the money back at him.

"I'm more than capable of catering for us all." He moves to leave.

"Stop" I lunge for his arm "She was my friend too, so don't be so stubborn and take the money. You don't want it? Give it to Prim." He really knows how to rub me up the wrong way, I'm on the verge of yelling and people are starting to stare.

"Fine." He snatches the money off me, and drags me behind the back of the building where prying eyes can't see. "Why are you doing this? You don't care about us?" His tone is hard but he speaks quietly.

"I care okay? I can't watch you work so hard everyday, and not do anything about it! You and Katniss hunted for yourselves, your families and you needed extra to sell and trade, no one man can do that Gale. Not even you."

"What do you mean not even me? And I'm coping!" He exclaimed, though I could see that I've wounded his pride. Oh well, he has enough pride for twenty men.

"Barely Gale." I snort. There is a pause.

"Did you say you wanted something in return? Because I think that's terrible! You can't just…"

"I want you to teach me how to hunt." I interrupt. He stares at me in disbelief.

"What?"

"You heard me. So will you?" I stare into his misty grey eyes, and he stares back. There's a long pause, and I wonder what he's thinking. A smirk crosses his face.

"Absolutely."
