Hey there nowWhere'd you goYou left me here so unexpectedYou changed my lifeI hope you knowcause now I'm lostSo unprotectedIn a blink of an eyeI never got to say goodbye-
Sadie sat atop the HQ, her dark eyes glittered with tears in the moonlight. She'd been going up there since she'd arrived at S.H.E.I.L.D; usually she wasn't alone. A star shot across the sky, causing a tear to roll down her face.
"Where are you Clint? Are you happy? Do you remember me? I miss you…I still need you…" she whispered, wrapping her arms tighter around her legs. He was gone and nothing could ever bring him back.
-Like a shooting starFlyin' across the roomSo fast so farYou were gone too soonYou're part of meAnd I'll never beThe same here without youYou were gone too soon-
"What are you trying to show me, Sadie." Clint asked, a small smile graced his face as the younger adult pulled him along into a pitch black room. She slapped his hand away from the light switch and smiled in the dark.
"Just watch." She said. After crackling her knuckles, she flicked her hands out and a spark of light shot across the room like a miniature shooting star. Clint laughed as the 'star' flew around their heads, it shot around at lightning speed until it slowly died out. The two spent the whole night in that room until they were found by Steve and Tony, asleep while lights like fireflies danced in rhythmic patterns around the room.
-You were always thereand like shining lighton my darkest daysyou were there to guide me-
Sadie grinned as Clint walked into the room, literally glowing neon green in the darkened room. The team laughed heartily as Clint tackled Sadie, telling her to make him stop glowing. She laughed and wrestled around to get the upper hand. Once she was seat on his lower back, his arm pinned behind him as leaned over and said directly above his ear."Why, don't you like being the knight in 'shining' armour?"
Shine on! Shine on!To a better placeShine on! Shine on!Will never be the sameLike a shooting starFlyin' across the roomSo fast so farYou were gone too soonYou're part of meAnd I'll never beThe same here without youYou were gone too soon-
As soon as the bullet was fired, Sadie's mind went into overdrive. She didn't know what happened, who it had hit until she found herself seated in front of the victim, his blood staining her hands crimson red. She half expected to have her vision clouded by tears, but somehow they weren't there. Tony, Steve, Thor, Natasha and Bruce all came running towards the two. None of them spoke over Sadie, none of them could.
"CLINT! Clint listen to me, you can't die, okay? You can't, Clint please. Don't leave me, please. Clint, CLINT!" She shouted, Clint reached out and his hand tangled into her dark hair. He brushed away a one tear that rolled down her face. He pressed his lips to her forehead before leaning back,
"I'm sorry, Sade."
-Shine on! Shine on!You were gone too soonShine on! Shine on!You were gone too soonShine on! Shine on!You were gone too soon
As Clint's body was taken away, Sadie was still trying to wrestle her way out of Thor's arms; none of the others could hold onto her for long. As soon as the car disappeared with Clint's body, Sadie stopped struggling and just collapsed in Thor's arms. Her voice was hoarse and tears rolled down her face like Niagara falls.
"No…No…He's dead, he's dead." she rocked back and forth, hoping it was just a dream; it wasn't.
Clint Barton was dead…
