Starry Night
I sit back and reminisce
Of the night we spent together
It was a summer's day
And the sky was full of lights
That one starry night
Alex lay on the couch with Paige in her arms. They were watching 'The Notebook', but Alex was hardly paying attention. She was remembering a night a few days ago when she and Paige were lying outside on Paige's lawn, watching the stars.
Oh so clear and bright
We looked at the stars
Wondering who they are
On that starry night
I will never miss
I thought nothing could be better
You make me feel this way
As we looked at all the sights
"What do you think that one is?" Paige said pointing to a group of stars.
Alex looked at it and answered, "That's Pieces, Paige, and it's like one of the easiest ones."
"Well I'm not exactly a constellation expert." Paige said laughing.
"Obviously" Alex said with a smile on her face.
Paige rolled over and rested her head on Alex's shoulder and wrapped her arm around her waist. As Alex held Paige, she knew nothing could get better than this. She knew that when she was with Paige, she was safe and no one can hurt her.
That one starry night
Oh so clear and bright
We looked at the stars
Wondering who they are
On that starry night
"I think I like that one the most." Paige pointed to the sky.
Alex narrowed her eyes, "That's a unicorn" she said.
"I know, what's yours?" She asked.
"Leo" Alex said.
"Which one's that?"
"That one" Alex pointed to a group of stars in the north, "It's a lion"
Paige smiled and cuddled closer to Alex.
When we shared that kiss
I can't help but remember
All those words that you said
So wonder full
So beautiful
Alex brought Paige's lips to hers. She kissed her with such passion. Paige's arm was around Alex's neck, pulling them closer. When they broke apart Paige leaned in a whispered in Alex's ear.
"I love you"
Those were the best words Paige has ever said to her. Alex's eyes teared up a little bit.
"I love you too"
That one starry night
Oh so clear and bright
We looked at the stars
Wondering who they are
On that starry night
That was Alex's favorite memory of them, mostly because it was the first time Paige had ever told Alex that she loved her. Alex looked down at Paige and saw that she had fallen asleep. Alex turned off the movie and brought Paige up the steps and carefully laid her down on the bed, trying not to wake her up. She laid down next to her and wrapped her arms around her. She fell asleep that night knowing that nothing in the world could change how they felt about each other.
