Ziva was absolutely fascinated. It was only earlier that day that she had discovered the game of Checkers on her PC. She picked it up fast, what to do, how to maneuver her piece, and when to jump. There was something simply thrilling about this game.
"What up, Ziver?" Tony asked, slamming his hands down on her desk in mock anger.
"I am playing Chickers."
"..You mean Checkers?"
"Yes, yes. This game is addictive."
"Have you ever played in real life? You know, with an actual board?"
"No, I have not. I just discovered this game today.'
"I'll bring my dad's old board tomorrow, I can show you how it's done."
"I will beat you, Tony."
"Ahh, but you have only played against a computer. You haven't seen the wrath of DiNozzo."
"I do not think I want to…."
Gibbs walked in, furious.
"Grab your gear, we have a baby missing."
Tony and Ziva exchanged a quick glance, geared up, and headed for the elevator. They were both going to rise to the occasion.

The next day, Tony headed to NCIS an hour early, with his checkerboard. He was absolutely certain that he was going to beat Ziva David. David was absolutely certain she was going to beat DiNozzo.
"Okay, David, one game. I'm black, red. Since you are a wee amateur, I'll let you have first move."
"That was a mistake," Ziva muttered as she moved her first piece into a corner.
Tony countered by moving his piece up against hers in the corner. She then moved another piece into another corner. Tony repeated the same action. This time, she jumped him, and smugly took his piece and plopped it into her tin.
"Beginners luck," Tony dismissed the incident.

By 7:30, they were both sweating. There were 3 pieces left on the board. 2 of Tony's kings, and 1 of Ziva's. Ziva moved her one piece aggressively close to Tony's.
"Not this time," he said as he moved his to upper right.
Ziva all of the sudden saw a golden opportunity. She jumped one piece, landed, and then jumped the other. She was… VICTORIOUS!
"I won! I won! I beat Tony DiNozzo at checkers!"
"Good job David. I let you win. I want a rematch, tomorrow."
"I'll be here."
Ziva had been victorious. No one could take that away from her. Not even Tony Dinozzo.
