Why Do You Try?
"Cheren, why do you try?"
"What do you mean, Touko?"
The two friends were sitting in Touko's room, talking like they usually do.
"I mean, I always win...but, you still try," Touko replied, strumming a rubber band.
"Well," Cheren started. "It's because I'm stronger than you, but I go easy on you."
"Yeah, right." Touko rolled her eyes.
"Wanna bet?" Cheren challenged.
Touko lunged for Cheren from her comfortable spot on her bed. Cheren, being the weakling he is, allowed himself to be tackled and his childhood friend was on top of him, giggling.
"Sure!" she giggled.
They soon realized the awkward position they were in, and Touko and Cheren bluhed and got up.
"Y'know, sometimes I lose for a differen reason," Cheren said.
Touko cocked her head tot he side in confusion.
"I see you sometimes during battle and my knees grow weak, my throat gets dry, a-and I'm just awestruck," Cheren said.
Touko's eyes grew wide for a moment.
"So what I'm trying to say is...I love you Touko. I always have and I always will. If you don't-" Cheren was interuppted by a pair of lips meeting his.
"Cheren, you just made things easier to say," Touko said when she broke the kiss.
